Mr Fab: not sure how you harvest tunes for SJR stream, but if you are interested in Bad Baby, that's SF drag queen D'Arcy Drollinger, who has recorded a lot of wild, sexy, funny, trashy tunes that you might like. I was in a band with him back in the last millenium.
Avatar 7:06pm
Linda Lee:

bandcamp, Granny?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm
Rich in Washington:

This is wonderful!
Avatar 7:06pm
ARB:

is harvesting tunes as nefarious as harvesting organs, or cryptocurrency?
Avatar 7:06pm
Linda Lee:

i love video, but i'll go to bandcamp if that's all we got..
Avatar 7:07pm
Mr Fab:

I harvest tunes from anywhere I can. Would def love to get ahold of that stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm

We need roaming noodle vendors!
Avatar 📖 Swag For Life Member 7:08pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I was going to ask what that was! I need one of those instruments for when I go out ;-)
Avatar 7:08pm
ARB:

send nudles!
Avatar 7:09pm

wouldn't it be lovely having soba vendors cruising the streets in your town?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm

Full frontal noodlety!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

LL: D'Arcy Drollinger is all over YT (and my WFMU profile media) under many monikers. See: SF Oasis (his night club), Enrique Es Muy Jumbo (the band i was in), Sexitude (his dance class) and Bad Baby! And more!

I've had this urge to have real ramen, Pho, Pad Thai, something with noodles - so went and bought a Cup-O-Noodles out of the vending machine here at the office and I forgot how terrible those things are.
Avatar 7:12pm
spacebrother:

When I was in Mexico City a couple of months ago, there were all kinds of street vendors. They all had things they played through loudspeakers to get people's attention.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

digging those soba songs! maybe for dinner…

Soba's pretty easy. Especially the cold ones for summer. Over ice with sauce and green onions and ginger. That's it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm
Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Mr. Fab: let's get in touch and i can connect you to D'Arcy directly—i'm sure he'd be delighted!

Ever had a sake martini, Greg? Good stuff! I think one is in order for this show.
Avatar 7:21pm
spacebrother:

I have. And I love them.

Also a sake slush, which is amazing too.
Avatar 7:22pm
Mr Fab:

ooh, where would one get a sake slush? Alas, don't think 7-11 sells them out of Slurpee machines.
Avatar 7:23pm
spacebrother:

Get some sake made for drinking cold and freeze it. The alcohol keeps it slushy.

WFMU's own Gaylord Field plays these guys sometimes. he says friends are always finding their albums, and gifting them to him, always thinking they've discovered them.
Avatar 7:41pm

In the latter part of this version the singer does an American accent.
Avatar 7:46pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm

I'm still miffed that my copy of G&C's Freeze Frame doesn't have the FREAKING TITLE CUT ON IT! It's some kind of mis-pressing/mastering or something. It says Freeze Frame is on it but it's actually the contemporaneous track Silent Running instead.
Avatar 7:53pm
spacebrother:

Is that the American release? Isn't that what happened?
Avatar 7:54pm
spacebrother:

I 'd better check mine.
Avatar 7:55pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
