@fleep: Regarding the “Rock ‘n Soul Ichiban” I know nothing deep, but the official Facebook group for the stream states it clearly; no need to have a Facebook account to read: www.facebook.com...

I am avoiding posting even publically known specifics because I really am loathe to gossip about internal politics of anything. So would encourage anyone reading this and following the threads there not add gossip to comments.

At the end of the day everyone is on edge nowadays and gossip ain’t no balm.

Heya Logan!
  11:04pm
JakeGould:

Furniture stores begat the record player — and radio — industry because they were marketed initially as pieces of entertainment furniture. Thus discs sold at those stores too. And I assume Sears tapped into that for the same reasons.
  11:05pm
Carmichael:

My first guitar was a Sears Silvertone.

Avatar 🥁 11:05pm

Sears go way back with records, 78s etc, but I believe this "Come On Back" was actually tied in with a "Come On back to Sears" advertising campaign
Avatar 11:05pm

Wild Ones b/w Marty Lennard = solid segue Kris. Bet no one's ever done that before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06pm
Franco Twinkie:

I would like to have everything on the Sears label.
  11:06pm
JakeGould:

Also Sears would always try to get a house brand for popular items. Like anyone remember the Atari 2600 video game system that was rebranded specifically for Sears? And that was the 1970s and 1980s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:08pm
coelacanth∅:

Carm mine too. i traded an lp away for it, i think. by the time i got it one of the machine heads was useless so i just got rid of it and made it a 5-string.
then one day it became a 4-string...
last i knew it was in my mother's attic, but ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm

i still have the Kent electric guitar that my "first" girlfriend gave to me.

... a danelectro or a harmony can be a sears?

The Sears models had solid plywood bodies with a skin stretched on them for looks. The Danos had lipstick pickups. They sounded like hell, and people spend good money today to recreate that awful tone.
