Love that Ambrose record. I always just assumed the 'part V' was part of the joke.
Avatar 7:02pm

Thanks, Rich. he demonstrations have moved up the street. Still cleaning up here.

OMG... I had a girlfriend from the Bronx named Rosie who sounded just like her and used to drive me crazy!!!

This is great, I don't know Linda Laurie at all but looking her up now. This'll be fun!
Avatar 7:05pm
spacebrother:

CC - I guess she really camped it up for the record.
Avatar 7:06pm
spacebrother:

Actually it WAS Laurie who told the Ambrose story about the doll (contestant @1.)
Avatar 7:08pm
spacebrother:

I think he was talking about Elvis.
Avatar 7:08pm
Mr Fab:

I was amazed when I found out that Laurie did both the male and female voices.
  7:08pm
CC:

Yeah the voice where they're walking through the subway tunnel... just like Rosie...used to drive me crazy!!!
Avatar 7:10pm

"Good girl?" WTF?
Avatar 📖 Swag For Life Member 7:11pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

I actually gasped at the "good girl" part!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm
Rich in Washington:

I used to work at this big restaurant/lounge when I was a kid and one of the weekend bartenders was this petit woman who wore these cool Pam Grier in Jacky Brown suits and she had a voice like the male voice in this record. Or Dr. Girlfriend in Venture Bros.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm
Rich in Washington:

I gotta get my pal Toby/Dr. Zomb to listen to this show. We're both huge fans of this weird little record.

Rich in Washington:

I have no idea. I actually think teenage me was inadvertently barking up the wrong tree, if you follow me. She was really cool. She'd pay me to wash her huge Monte Carlo after my shift. She was a real career bartender, working lots of places in Portland. I think management managed to run her off. They were a bunch of coke dealing hillbillies who were running the joint as a party place for their loser friends towards the end.
Avatar 7:18pm
ARB:

This one's my favorite!
Avatar 7:18pm
spacebrother:

@ ARB - I bet I could have guessed that.
Avatar 7:19pm
ARB:

not just doing the male voice, but doing two males fighting over herself
  7:19pm
Martinibomb:

The old bartender at Hung Far Low had one of these voices
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
Rich in Washington:

I had no idea Linda Laurie was so prolific. She's wonderful!
Avatar 7:19pm

@ Rich. Yes, i get your drift. Still sounds like a totally cool woman to know.
  7:20pm
Martinibomb:

love off kilter whistling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm
Rich in Washington:

She was. I think she was also the bartender that showed me how to play the lounge's jukebox for free. I'd pick a list of cool records for when I had to clean up hillbilly vomit in the lounge before it would open.
Avatar 7:21pm
spacebrother:

@ MB - Tuneless whistling holds a special charm.
