This track's pretty funky!
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 8:31pm

Also, the mixing can be strange-- like the levels on the vocals are too high and clipping the ceiling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm
Gary:

Yeah, hearing lots of delay/reverb in this one -- Lata supposedly sang one of the songs from Mughal-E-Azam in the W.C. to get the right reverb

...think of Lennon saying he wanted the sound of the Dalai Lama on a mountain for Tomorrow Never Knows - & the lengths they went to satisfy

...the cross-cultural transliterations !
Reverb associated with 1950s Rawk/Pop - cause it was available...& still into 1960s Psych (Elevators...) til dif things came along...
We make so much if Indian influence of Rawk - its interesting to get the opposite from the other direction!
...So much one could say about Bollywood!

Archive listening, first two sets so far. Bollywood music has been a guilty pleasure for me for the 20 years I've lived a couple of blocks from the Eagle theater (it's been gone 5 years or so?) and perversely I never saw a movie there. Have dozens of DVDS but no systematic knowledge or understanding of the rich "genre". Glad you included Geeta Dutt, perhaps a feature on her in future?
