Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Avatar Fri. 9/13/19 2:22pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay now. Dippy but kind of great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:23pm Uncle Michael:

exactly
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:24pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Q for the general accuplaylist folx: what was your FIRST karaoke song?
Avatar Fri. 9/13/19 2:27pm Franco Twinkie:

Chresti just left the house for a while. Now I can scorch a hot dog in the toaster oven. Paartay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:33pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:35pm Uncle Michael:

I have never actually karaoke'd.
Fri. 9/13/19 2:37pm andy the painter:

wow. that Sister Golden Hair sounded GREAT just then, despite having heard it so often.....

and i’m the guy who listened to The Fall walking all the way from 95’ street to 10’ street yesterday.

Unchael Micle: unless you count the annual Hoof n Mouth Sinfonia!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:39pm Uncle Michael:

But I don't get lyrics scrolling on a screen.

Andy! You did what, now?
Avatar Fri. 9/13/19 2:39pm Franco Twinkie:

I saw The Sons Of The Pioneers with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans at the county fair awhile back. As Roy stood there like a doddering old fool, Dale went on and on with some stupid story about a boy 'With The Long Hair.' It had a biblical punch line that made no sense, and no one clapped. Then they had horse racing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:40pm Michael 98145:

@FT, that sounds like our current national spectacle
  Fri. 9/13/19 2:41pm dan:

@Franco
By you saying the word "doddering" to describe Roy, it must have been at least in the 1980s.
  Fri. 9/13/19 2:42pm dan:

Anyone familiar with George Harrison's version "...Deep Blue Sea"?
Fri. 9/13/19 2:43pm andy the painter:

@uncle michael. i walked 85 blocks down park avenue with mark smith ranting in my ears yesterday (which was great) and today i dug America. long live wfmu!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:46pm Uncle Michael:

Rock on, Andy!
  Fri. 9/13/19 2:48pm geezerette:

Hey-hey, UM & folks!

Dan, love Harrison's version!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:48pm Uncle Michael:

geez!
  Fri. 9/13/19 2:49pm dan:

Bob Seger's version was the gender swapped "Come to Poppa"
Avatar Fri. 9/13/19 2:50pm Franco Twinkie:

Dan, you are right on the mark! It was 1980 in fact. So when I suggest Dale Evans was a little behind the curve.....I mean, who the fuck was still talking about "The Long Hair' in 1980!?! She struck me as a self-righteous old witch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 🎃 Fri. 9/13/19 2:51pm Uncle Michael:

she'd probably had that story in her act since 1968.
  Fri. 9/13/19 2:52pm dan:

@Franco
Or just senile.
  Fri. 9/13/19 2:53pm geezerette:
