Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Avatar Swag For Life Member Fri. 12/19/14 12:39pm Mike East:

@pss - that's awesome. I've wanted to see that. There was just a blurb in the NY'er about Eric Idle and his new production of a Life of Brian Bway adaptation. It recalled the same story I just watched in the George Harrison doc about how EMI pulled funding just as the film's production began and Harrison mortgaged his house to make it happen.

Avatar Swag For Life Member    Fri. 12/19/14 12:44pm pacific standard simon:

@Mike East - It's a fun show. Idle kept most of the movie in, while still managing to shoehorn in some new gags and a lot of song and dance. Plus, "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" yet again, so there's some more bucks in Eric's pockets.

I've never been able to imagine Terry Reid doing anything very Zeppelin-ish -- which probably says a lot about Robert Plant's contribution to the band.

Pot Liquor had its beginning in 1969 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and played an intriguing mix of country, blues- and southern rock. They released three excellent albums between 1970 and 1973 and on more in 1979 before finally breaking up. Yet these godfathers of southern rock never got the recognition they deserved.
