Along the lines of which single album would you choose if stranded on a deserted island, I was thinking more expansively about which single genre if forced to pick only one. I'd have to go with soul/R&B over rock, pop, jazz and even classical.

My favorite part of "Transfusion" is Nervous Norvus' tacked-on half-assed public-service announcement at the end, whose purpose is to justify the preceding two minutes of blood and gore. Genius, it is!

No, that was on Canadian and Mexican Helen Reddy pressings only. In the US and UK it was an a capella version of Metal Machine Music.

Speaking of poison, impatience and relationships...this line -- Stephanie's response to Tony in an exchange on Romeo and Juliet -- has for some reason become my favorite from Saturday Night Fever:

Chocolate Necco wafers, while gross, are necessary for gingerbread house roof tiles.
In a past life I was the candy buyer for a local emporium known for their candy selection (NOT southern Season, alas), and there are a shocking amount of Necco Wafer fans - and they tend to be obsessive and buy multiple rolls at a time.

There was once a piece in the Boston Phoenix about disgusting foodstuffs made in New England. Necco wafers was one of them, but the best was about Gorton's fish sticks. I'm paraphrasing, it was something like "they are rumored to be made out of fish heads and crab testicles. Do crabs even have testicles, you ask? Not after Gorton's gets through with them, they don't!"
