Pledges totaling $113 will bump the goal marker up to 50%. At the end of today's show, D:O Radio will be 50% done with the silent fundraiser. A donation to a single GIVE THE DRUMMER RADIO program is understood to be support for ALL shows on the stream.

Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:14pm Jeff Golick:

Yah, what Doug said!
Even if you don't love us, do it for the stream!
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:15pm Jeff Golick:

@earrie: Now that's tricky.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:16pm glenn:

Three First Nations women had babies.

The first sat on a deer hide rug and gave birth to a five-pound boy.
The second sat on a moose hide rug and gave birth to a six-pound girl.
The third sat on a rug made of hippopotamus hide and had an eleven-pound boy.

Such an outcome was inevitable, as we all know that the son of the squaw on the hippopotamus equals the sons of the squaws on the other two hides.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:17pm Jeff Golick:

Man, that is a LONG way to go for a math punchline, glenn.

Love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/13/14 1:20pm northguineahills:

I don't get it, how would a First Nations tribe have access to a hippopotamus hide ;)
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:21pm Doug Schulkind:

By the way, glenn, the math doesn't work. The boy born on the hippopotamus hide would have to weigh approx 7.81024968 (the square root of 61).
  Mon. 10/13/14 1:21pm earrie:

Maybe the long side was a hypnotized moose?
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:22pm Jeff Golick:

Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:24pm Jeff Golick:

Hi, listeners. Are any of you having trouble with the stream at all today?
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:24pm Doug Schulkind:

deer² + moose² = hippopotamus²
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:25pm Doug Schulkind:

@Jeff Golick
There has been a bit of intermittent rebuffering. It kicked back to the stream very briefly once. Other times, just a momentary pause.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:25pm listener james from westwood:

Jeff, it's been a touch rebuffery, as was Rich H earlier.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:27pm Jeff Golick:

Ok, thanks. Appreciate your hanging in there!
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:29pm listener james from westwood:

I come from the wire-in-a-potato/antenna-kabuki era of getting FMU's air signal. Takes more than a glitchy stream to shake me! :D
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:30pm Jeff Golick:

Sweet, @listener james.

I'm having my traditional Columbus Day lunch of cold pizza, btw.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:30pm glenn:

jeeeez. i give you comedy gold, and you go all mathy on me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/13/14 1:31pm northguineahills:

Just one minor blip so far, streamwise.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:32pm Doug Schulkind:

I am pretty sure that the rebuffering issues are station-wide and not exclusive to GtDR connections.
  Mon. 10/13/14 1:33pm earrie:

Tough womb, Glenn.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:38pm Doug Schulkind:

And earrie takes the prize!
  Mon. 10/13/14 1:41pm josh:

What is the pledge level to get Jeff J. a decent microphone?
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:43pm Jeff Golick:

Ha, hey, josh. That's actually in the works. Hope to have Jeff J. fully set up , well, let's say by the full FMU Marathon/early 2015.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 10/13/14 1:44pm Uncle Michael:

Is the mic an issue or is it just the realities of Skype?
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Mon. 10/13/14 1:44pm Uncle Michael:

Oh, hai.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:45pm Jeff Golick:

Ahoy, Uncle Michael. Could be both. But a mic might help some...
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/13/14 1:50pm Todd76Pct:

Thanks for the Congliptious info, Jeff!
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:51pm Doug Schulkind:

Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:53pm Jeff Golick:

YAY Josh from Seattle! It's a Columbus Day miracle.
  Mon. 10/13/14 1:53pm josh:

Totally fine to shout at me; I don't hear so well...

I gave my main pledge to Amanda, but I'll toss some in the coffers for these gentlemen too. I like their moxie.

Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:55pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:58pm Jeff Golick:

We throw those in for free, listener james.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 1:59pm Doug Schulkind:

Gotta run and meet with my daughter's "C.A.S. facilitator" at her high school. Hope I don't get any homework.

I"m off to call the New York State Tax Dept. Might be gone for a while.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:20pm Jeff Golick:

Good luck, @ngh! Tell 'em hi and their money's coming, from us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/13/14 2:27pm northguineahills:

I just paid them $1k in July. My wife put $10k in our joint account to show that we have money for the visa application, and they took $7k out and froze my checking account. This happened on Saturday, and of course their system is down b/c of Columbus Day. Thank God I have an emergency credit card.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:33pm listener james from westwood:

Jeeezuz. Hope they get this unfrozen soon!!
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:37pm Jeff Golick:

That is horrific, @ngh. As someone who has experienced tax liens on my wages, I can relate, to a degree.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/13/14 2:38pm northguineahills:

This all started b/c when I worked for the Federal gov't, they forgot to take out any state tax one year. Previous discussions said they'd accept my Federal refund. Obviously, my name attached to an account w/ money changed that. My wife isn't too happy right now.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:40pm Jeff Golick:

I have limited experience with other states, but NYS seems to be about the worst.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:50pm Doug Schulkind:

I'm thinking of inventing a product that helps baseball players hit more home runs. It'll be called the Facili-Tater®
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:51pm Jeff Golick:

With Tatum O'Neill as pitch person.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:52pm Jeff Golick:

BTW, Doug, this song title is for you.

(In that it's long, I mean.)
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:53pm Doug Schulkind:

Long song title, with melodica. Near perfection.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:55pm Jeff Golick:

I don't think Gray actually got to his melodica on that cut -- elsewhere on the album, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Mon. 10/13/14 2:55pm northguineahills:

I somehow missed Chris Welcome doing this. Thanks Jeffs! Have a great afternoon!
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:55pm Doug Schulkind:

You are dead to me.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:56pm Jeff Golick:

Thanks, @ngh! You, too, and good luck in your bureaucratic dealings.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 2:57pm Jeff Golick:

Due to poor planning, this cut, "Fall Expanded," is going to expand our show a little past the top of the hour.
  Mon. 10/13/14 2:58pm earrie:

What would you name the love child of Frederico Ughi and Ugueth Urbina?

What! It's an honest question.
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 3:02pm Jeff Golick:

Dudu? Yuji?
  Mon. 10/13/14 3:02pm earrie:

Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 3:02pm Jeff Golick:

Can someone tell me how to pronounce Ughi, in 30 secs?
Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 3:04pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar Mon. 10/13/14 3:06pm Jeff Golick:
