Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 8/13/14 8:03pm listener james from westwood:

So that one WAS related to that "Da da da" cut from like the 90s. Hah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 8/13/14 8:04pm Holly in NC:

@hyde, erm, sorry, here w/b link www.amazon.com... . Out of my 100s of cookbooks, in top 10.
Avatar    Wed. 8/13/14 8:06pm hyde:

the "Da Da Da" song is by a german band called Trio. It was a Volkswagen commercial that used it.

@Holly thanks! I actually have over $100 in an evil Amazon gift certificate to burn so that's mighty tempting.

"Thanks, Doug!" ... Gary says; "Me, too!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 8/13/14 8:37pm Jesse K:

Do you think Joey Boy took his name in any way from the Miami bass label of the same name?
Avatar Wed. 8/13/14 8:39pm Gary:

Possibly? Peter isn't sure. He says he'd like to know more about it
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 8/13/14 8:39pm Jesse K:

I keep hearing this weird surface noise-sounding interference tonight, it's intermittent. Could be my phone.
Avatar Wed. 8/13/14 8:41pm Gary:

We were hearing that too, Jesse ... not sure if it was part of original recording or glitch on our end

Thanks, Cklequ!
Avatar Wed. 8/13/14 9:34pm Doug Schulkind:

Peter, which is the politically more conscientious name to use at this point, Myanmar or Burma? My instincts say Burma, but I really have no idea. Can you offer guidance?
Avatar Wed. 8/13/14 9:35pm carol:

this is beautiful! thank you sooo much gary and peter! i'm so glad i got to catch your show :) i gotta get going for tonight though. i'll be back again soon!
Avatar Wed. 8/13/14 9:37pm Gary:

Peter says: "I'm no expert, but I'm not sure there's a politically correct way to say it. I think both names are potentially contentious. Burma because it only refers to one ethnic group. And Myanmar because the military picked it."
Avatar Wed. 8/13/14 9:37pm Gary:

So nice to see you, Carol ... have a great night!
Avatar Wed. 8/13/14 9:41pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks, Peter. I think I will continue to go with Burma. Whatever ethnic prejudices inherent in that usage, at least it has the sheen of a tolerated ignorance. I find this more palatable than legitimizing the regime.
Avatar Swag For Life Member    Wed. 8/13/14 9:44pm Ike:

I just got here, but I co-sign what Peter said via Gary @9:37. I usually say Burma, but there's no ideal choice from what I understand.
