A reflexive, traveling radio production. Each show is spontaneous as a backroom deal, a different guest a different location every week. Two hours of trading records with friends, programming without a prepared playlist. Actually, it goes like this: Jesse Kaminsky travels around Providence and the world with a portable radio show, visits a different person every week and makes spontaneous musical exchanges. We agree to call it radio.

Hi Jesse
I'm ready, willing and able.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:02am Dervish:

Go Jesse, go!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:02am listener james from westwood:

happy friday, jesse and all!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:03am northguineahills:

Did you play Wednesday evening?, there was a pop-up player thingy on the home page during 7SD, but no playlist.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:05am Jesse K:

Mornin everyone!
It wasn't me on wednesday. Tuesday yes, wed no.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:05am Doug Schulkind:

NGH:There have been some screwy things going on with the scheduling of playlists in my absence. Apologies for the confusion.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:08am Doug Schulkind:

Morning Jesse!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:09am Jesse K:

mornin Doug! Hows things in vacay land?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:09am Stanley:

Doug -aren't you supposed to be on holiday? Get ye to the museum, beach, mountain trail etc.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:13am ndbob:

morning Jesse, Doug, everyone
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:13am Doug Schulkind:

Just ordered 20 more lobsters from our man. Called him on his cell right out on his boat midst lobstering.

Heading out for a kayaking jaunt in a bit, Stanley. Hoping to see the neighborhood bald eagle (affectionately named "Bernard" for the duration of our visit) on the trip. He's been getting nastily dive-bombed by crows for the past few days. (Don't worry. Bernard's a motherfucker. Barely lifts a feather while the jerks swarm at him.)
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:15am ndbob:

wow Doug... and about to set off in a week or so for my trip East
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:15am northguineahills:

Thought so, it showed up on the main page.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:17am Uncle Michael:

I'm tardy.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:19am Stanley:

Glad to hear you're having a proper holiday. Lobsters 'n' all. Crows can be mean ol' bastards. *Go Bernard*.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:19am Uncle Michael:

did we just lose the stream?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:20am Stanley:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:20am Doug Schulkind:

The pop-up player keeps crapping out. Doing its hiccuppy thing, which suggests the stream connection is in and out.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:20am Alex In Illinois:

@Uncle Michael:
I'm tardier
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:20am Jesse K:

yep. sorry about that, this router is fishy this morning, should be back up now.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:21am Uncle Michael:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:22am ndbob:

yep - it is here
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:23am Uncle Michael:

I don't think the pop-up reconnects properly on its own. pause/play sorts it.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:23am Alex In Illinois:

Is that a scene from the old Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon with Buster Crabbe? The spaceships sounded like diesel horns and has sparks falling from the back?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:24am Uncle Michael:

Stihling the Blues is about a chaainsaw.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:27am KevinfromBayRidge:

Mornin' Drummersomes. Our worst problems in life should be refreshing pop-up players! Doug, rub the lobster thing into our shellfish craving appe-psyches!!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:30am Brian in UK:

King Tardy meets the Lobsters upside the Cay. Howdeedoodee.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:30am Doug Schulkind:

Appepsyche is my new favorite word.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:31am Uncle Michael:

I think I just lost my appepsyche.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:34am Stanley:

Howdeedoodee Rudi, I mean Brian.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:34am Jeff Golick:

Just checking in to see what condition my Kaminsky is in.

Go Jesse!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:34am Doug Schulkind:

They have an app for that.
  Fri. 7/12/13 9:35am trish:

Good Friday morning, all. Glad you're enjoying the coast, Doug.
Could those crows be ravens?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:36am Uncle Michael:

I have nine more Fridays to play Summertime and I'm gonna make it even if Jesse plays Summertime for the rest of the show!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:37am Brian in UK:

Did you know a pilchard is a mature sardine.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:37am Jesse K:

sorry, just got hungry in the middle of that sawing
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:38am Uncle Michael:

Mmmm...semolina pilchard.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:38am Alex In Illinois:

So is there a larger island called Pilchardia?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:38am Brian in UK:

@UM that's Eiffel
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:39am Doug Schulkind:

Hiya trish!
Anything's possible, but my naturalist chum Allan, traveling with us called them crows. He could spot a bug at 30 yards and tell you what it ate for breakfast.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:40am Stanley:

@Brian - thought I'd never say this but its 27C up here and 28C last Tuesday. A Monty Python quote is quite appropriate today. BTW I know a chap call Barry Pilchard.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:40am Jeff Golick:

Ah, Maine. Home of hot lobsters, cold water, and topless coffee shop arson: bangordailynews.com...
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:42am Brian in UK:

Funny name Barry!
@Jeff It had no roof?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:42am Jeff Golick:

We get our pilchard info from Bob the Builder (whose dog is so named), thank you.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:44am Doug Schulkind:

Bangor, the drum, slowly.
  Fri. 7/12/13 9:44am trish:

Gotcha. 'Crow' can sometimes be used as a 'gull' like generic. I say raven because they aren't in cities. They make me think of east coast woods.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:44am Uncle Michael:

Is there yellow matter custard dripping from Bob the builder's dog's eye?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:45am Brian in UK:

Is this the Trailer for sale or rent, Bangor?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:45am Jesse K:

whoa, things got a little country here, got arkansas on the brain
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:46am Brian in UK:

Well Doug guess I better keep up the pizza on Friday habit.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:47am ndbob:

The Echoes of the Ozarks collections are really good
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:51am Doug Schulkind:

No pizza tonight, Brian. Just some Atlantic Ocean mudbugs.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:53am Brian in UK:

My heart pines for Clarence White.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 9:59am Alex In Illinois:

Hippies come to Soweto!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:04am Alex In Illinois:

Last time I saw the Mahotella Queens in concert, One of them shouted something like: "You're not too old to dance! I'm up here singing and I have grandchildren older than you!"
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:05am Jesse K:

Alex, to answer your question from some time ago: yes, the gif is from the 1940 version of Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:08am Jeff Golick:

Mbizo = unfukwittable.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:15am Doug Schulkind:

This one is way Okay by me.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:19am KevinfromBayRidge:

Gotta find some Bklyn crustaceans soon!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:20am ndbob:

It will be nice to have some great seafood when I'm back in Baltimore
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:20am Jesse K:

aren't they a kickball team?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:24am KevinfromBayRidge:

No Jesse . I think trey're in Satan Island!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:24am Alex In Illinois:

@Jesse K:
There is a building in Chicago that a few of us call the "Flash Gordon Building" because it looks a little like one of those ships
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:26am Uncle Michael:

It looks like the Chrysler building as interpreted by Michael Graves' butt.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:35am northguineahills:

I let my inner hippie out of the closet years ago.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:49am Carmichael:

Tardiest of all thus far. Hiya Jesse, Hiya Doug in Exile, hello Friday people.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:51am Doug Schulkind:

Hey Carmichael! Tell Jesse to stop playing such killer stuff so I can go kayaking.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:55am KevinfromBayRidge:

Listen as you row- Power-Kayaking!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 10:59am Jesse K:

Hi Carmichael! Doug, that's why god invented iphones
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:03am Jesse K:

if you hear any bumping it's me trying desperately to keep my cats away from the spinning disks.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:03am Doug Schulkind:

Verizon doesn't serve the Maine coast very well (at all), otherwise I'd have you booming out in Penobscot Bay.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:04am Jesse K:

that's probably better for vacationing in the long run
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:05am listener james from westwood:

heh, i like the sun city girls cover here.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:08am Carmichael:

128k stream just died.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:11am northguineahills:

lost the popup stream twice during the last set.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:11am KevinfromBayRidge:

Penobscot Bay.. Say hello if you see Hawkeye!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:15am Jesse K:

yikes, sorry guys. my connection seems to have been consistent for the last 1:56. Not sure what's the problem...
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:17am Carmichael:

I just reset it and it works fine. It's probably a shaky connection.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:18am northguineahills:

I've just resetted twice in the last 3 minutes.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:23am Jesse K:

warm up your coffee anyone?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:24am Uncle Michael:

What did you have in mind?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:25am Jesse K:

nothing really, just got a fresh cup myself
  Fri. 7/12/13 11:25am trish:

A few stream notes from my end:
-stream didn't die, but went silent
-currently aok, though bits of other tracks (0.1-0.5s) have cut in. More than twice, less than five times.
-Now Playing now says 'LadioCast 0.10.4'
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:27am Jesse K:

thanks Trish, are you on the 128k or popup?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:28am Jesse K:

Just tried resetting my router, hopefully that helps a little. Sorry for the frothy stream today...field ops radio
  Fri. 7/12/13 11:30am trish:

Shows sounds great all in all.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:30am Alex In Illinois:

On my end, on the 128k, I think I had the same as trish
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:31am Jesse K:

ok, there's something about the internet in this building that's fishy, which is frustrating because it should just work without magic happening. Somehow, sometimes, computers are magic.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:32am Jesse K:

are you guys getting track listings?
  Fri. 7/12/13 11:33am trish:

Yep. I see them, now. Corresponds to the playist - "Coda"
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:35am Jesse K:

ok, that's good at least. thanks for all your feedback!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:36am ndbob:

yep - now I am
  Fri. 7/12/13 11:37am trish:

Any time. I appreciate the fine listening.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:41am Uncle Michael:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:42am ndbob:

yep - Hollies and Keith - nice version here
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:44am Brian in UK:

Bet Graham Gouldman did not have this in mind.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:44am Carmichael:

Mui bueno!
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:44am Brian in UK:

Do I detect some Tap in there.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:46am Carmichael:

Some of that Northern Salsa sound.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:46am Uncle Michael:

I was hoping to hear Stop! Stop! Stop! in Erdu.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:47am Jesse K:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:48am Carmichael:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:48am Uncle Michael:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:48am northguineahills:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:49am Brian in UK:

Anatolian Funk?
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:51am northguineahills:

So, far, so good.
Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:51am Carmichael:

Avatar Fri. 7/12/13 11:52am Jesse K:
