  12:07pm Suzie:

I love the Outta Sites!
Avatar 12:08pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  12:08pm Bluesman:

Wow, after three hours of Todd-O-Phonic and another three worth of TCM, how the hell am I gonna get any work done today????
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm Mike East:

Hey Joe B.
I heard Todd-o-phonic quoted on NPR this morning. Bummer about Maxwell's
Avatar 12:09pm SmokinJ:

Lovin' it!
Avatar 12:14pm Joe B:

Hi Everyone! thanks for tuning in! appreciate it. Big show today - 1 pm, live music from The Orange Peels! 2 pm - interview with the one and only Barry Tashian of The Remains! and maybe we can get Todd to stick around to say a few words about the Maxwell's news. hang on!!!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Mike East:

of course! WFMU gets the exclusive from the man himself! WNYC's gotta quote the Star Ledger.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:25pm efd:

from 1010 WINS to WFMU! Todd is hitting all the big local stations today.
  12:33pm lori at Little Cricket:

So sorry about Maxwells, and very thankful we were able to have Ty's long-dreamed-about birthday party with Todd as the DJ!
  12:34pm Bluesman:

I blame my kids for only getting to Maxwells once a quarter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Mike East:

Dave Davies is using our backline!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Greg from Bloomfield:

Reading that nj.com article I felt like a girl was breaking up with me. My stomach got all twisted and I almost cried...
  12:39pm Bluesman:

Smugglers' singer Grant Lawrence came running out onto the street in nothing more than a bath towel after the Maxwells kitchen fire happened! Hysterical.
  12:41pm bob:

just chimed in - is maxwell's going to move to a different venue?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Dominick:

Gotta take that one last ride.....on the PATH
Avatar 12:46pm KP:

Bongos?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Mike East:

no, bob. It's gone...but Todd's still booking bands at The Bell House in Brooklyn.
  12:48pm John L.:

Hey Joe!!!Any idea when those July 31 tix will be up for sale? They aren't on the site yet.
  12:50pm bob:

thanks mike east.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Mike Sin:

Some good points made during that conversation. For me personally, losing Maxwell's is a big blow because because it was such a casual comfortable place to see a band of any "stature" and it was easy as hell to get to for a Jersey dude like me -- In addition, the venue was still quite VITAL (when CBGB was closing, I felt the clamor to keep it open was more about the legacy than its current vitality).
  12:55pm KevinWho:

this "Semaphore Girl" song is almost, dare I say, Ben Vaughn-y
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:56pm Mike East:

I don't think they addressed the REAL issue: What's gonna happen to the IBJ Xmas party??!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm Mike East:

@Mike Sin - great fill in last weekend. I wasn't commenting, but I was tuned in.
  12:58pm John L.:

Why a ban on Sundazed? Did they do something wrong?
Avatar 🎸 12:58pm David Shortell:

"Semaphore Girl" used the "Psycho Daisies" riff!
  1:00pm Cynnkitty:

Going through all of the wonderful reminiscences online is bittersweet indeed. Maxwell's was woven so strongly into the fabric of my life that I cried when I heard, and I don't cry about things like this. At least I didn't used to. Mostly I wish all good things to Todd and company. You made history, my friend.
  1:00pm TL:

Thanks Joe! Long Live the Fearsome Foursome!
  1:01pm John L.:

Sorry for being a smart ass.
Avatar 1:03pm Joe B:

John, thanks for pointing out the typo! always appreciated! not sure about the 7/31 tix, will let you know.
  1:09pm Matt_Stinson:

I saw one of the Yo La Tengo Haukkah shows years ago with special guess Alex Chilton. It was awesome!
  1:12pm Taylor from Dallas:

This is my last week of high school and listening to The Orange Peels live is a great way to spend my last school lunch. Thank you, and it's a beautiful day in Texas.
Avatar 1:16pm Joe B:

I have to say, this is a great set! Thanks again to Mike Sin for another amazing job!
  1:16pm Matt_Stinson:

...at Maxwells. That was the only shoe I ever saw there.
Avatar 1:17pm SmokinJ:

I second that Joe.. Mike's got a good ear..
  1:25pm Cynnkitty:

it does sound great.
  1:27pm Lee Rosevere:

ack! Just tuned in.. dang, missed alot. Is this going up on FMA after? Pleeeease?
Avatar 1:29pm Joe B:

Yes lee, Orange Peels will be on FMA! The regular archive will be up later this afternoon as well. Not sure how long it takes for FMA, but it will happen!
  1:37pm Lee Rosevere:

Excellent, thanks!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:37pm ChrisB.:

The Orange Peels are excellent! So glad I picked up Sun Moon. It's a keeper.
Avatar 1:42pm KP:

Well i had plans to cut out ... they keep pulling me back in
  1:42pm Steven:

So sad about Maxwell's. I saw countless YLT Chanukah sets over the years from directly in front of the stage with the most amazing array of special guests and openers. The vibe and pure intimacy of the place is irreplaceable. This is the only club I've ever been to where the owner would actually personally thank us for coming after the show on the way out and tell us to get home safe . Thanks Todd for all of the amazing moments at Maxwells. For me, every show I was able to see at your great space was a true privelege. Steven (and Rhonda) Brooklyn
Avatar 1:53pm KP:

Excellent. Someone was singing their praises on FB during broadcast. i pointed them here.
Avatar 1:54pm Joe B:

thanks KP!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:59pm tim from champaign:

Congratulations Taylor from Dallas. It only gets better after H.S.
Avatar 2:04pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Remains are great!
- & Barry sounds like such a nice righteous dude!
  2:04pm Allen C:

So great to be back on your show, Joe! Thanks again for having us. We're back in San Francisco, already missing the east coast.
Love,
The Orange Peels
  2:14pm Bobby the W:

Best Remains gig... John Jorgie's wedding reception.
  2:17pm KevinWho:

@Taylor from Dallas:
sorry kid, but don't believe tim from champaign---it's all downhill from high school. wage slavery awaits!
Avatar 2:26pm dc pat:

love this tune...can't play it too much...
Avatar 🎸 2:27pm David Shortell:

In the 1990s, Dee Dee and Marky Ramone had the audacity to name a new group of theirs The Remains.
  2:28pm Bluesman:

Good for you Joe. Great interview. What a nice guy!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:28pm tim from champaign:

Very cool interview! What a nice guy.

You should do more interviews, Joe. You pull great information out the the interviewee.
Avatar 2:33pm Joe B:

thanks Tim! thanks Blues!
  2:39pm common:

diggin this black angels record
Avatar 2:40pm dc pat:

yeah, great tune...
Avatar 2:55pm dc pat:

whoa. this has to be the oddest version of Jack the Ripper ever. Not saying I don't like the interpretation but...
  12:51pm TimC:

Pretty bummed about Maxwells. I was there for Thee Headcoats/Headcoatees show Todd mentioned. Other great memories there were Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Husker Du, Wire, Bongos, Feelies, Mekons, Wedding Present, Angry Samoans, and the Lyres (when they started fighting on stage).
