Hi Everyone! Nice to be here. You guys have better food.

Thank you for what you did back there, Listener James. WFMU is so lucky to have you all up in our grill.
Fri. 11/9/12 12:05pm Van in DC:

Gotta run out for a bit to forage for food
  Fri. 11/9/12 12:06pm Paul Sherratt:

Choke... named a grand retriever dog after the 'Louie' song. We'd intended for the boy to meet Richard Berry on a future UK visit but fate decided that lovely Mr Berry would never make that return visit.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 12:06pm Amanda:

How about some $$$ for Ichiban recovery?
Fri. 11/9/12 12:06pm listener james from westwood:

  Fri. 11/9/12 12:06pm Ted:

  Fri. 11/9/12 12:20pm ndbob:

Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 12:21pm Amanda:

Hi Artie! We have a Norton Records set planned for later, in case you're interested.

ndbob -- yeah, sounds familiar
Fri. 11/9/12 12:22pm listener james from westwood:

stay warm, ndbob! the very last of our post-sandy nor'easter snow is fast disappearing on the sunlit railway outside my window. (but no trains; that line leads to hoboken and has been dead since sandy. creepy.)
Fri. 11/9/12 12:22pm Van in DC:

mmm. salad for me. Could not catch the deer. Forgot my slingshot today anyway.
  Fri. 11/9/12 12:25pm ndbob:

this should bea fairly typical winter storm for here - problem is usually we don't get much ice but will this time - nothing remotely like Sandy - but down ot 5 Sunday night
Fri. 11/9/12 12:29pm listener james from westwood:

5, yikes. makes me glad i just had my heater replaced!
  Fri. 11/9/12 12:33pm Ted:

Fri. 11/9/12 12:45pm Brian in UK:

I heard tell that DDDBM&T recorded an album track of silence a la John Cage. True?
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 12:46pm Amanda:

*loved* hearing the crackles in that second of silence in the badfinger cut.
  Fri. 11/9/12 1:00pm Doug Schulkind:

Hey Matt. Word just came down from the League Office. You've been traded to the Drummer Stream for a microphone wind screen and a DJ to be named later.
Fri. 11/9/12 1:00pm listener james from westwood:

to the bonanza tune:
i like a show and the name of the show's "bonanza"
why are a group of 3 grown men still living with their dad?
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 1:03pm Fiveash:

They all wore toupees except for Michael Landon.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 1:04pm Fiveash:

Doug, Is it because I wouldn't hand Debbie the ball when she took me out of the game that time?
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 1:04pm Amanda:

Michael Landon wore a merkin though
Fri. 11/9/12 1:07pm Brian in UK:

Poor people at Norton got hit so I heard.
Fri. 11/9/12 1:09pm Brian in UK:

President Merkin Muffley. You know the film.

Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 1:15pm Fiveash:

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here, this is the war room!
Fri. 11/9/12 1:18pm listener james from westwood:

wonder what the film would've been like had he also played major kong as planned. tough to imagine anyone but pickens in that role.
  Fri. 11/9/12 1:19pm seang:

Man, just a year ago Norton was celebrating with that 4 day bash
Fri. 11/9/12 1:21pm Brian in UK:

Pickens in the final scene, priceless. YeeeeHaaa
Fri. 11/9/12 1:22pm listener james from westwood:

yeeeeeaaahh!!! this "13 women" cover is a fucking blowtorch. loved that efd had it in heavy rotation a while back.
Fri. 11/9/12 1:30pm listener james from westwood:

a friend of mine has done a double feature in which he watched the contemporaneous (and serious) film "fail-safe" and then "dr. s." it's possible to do this with a film titled "zero hour!" and "airplane." a-mazing.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 1:32pm Fiveash:

President Fonda!
  Fri. 11/9/12 1:41pm Doug Schulkind:

Selfish pleasure: This way I can listen to the Drummer Stream and not miss a blessed Ichiban moment.
  Fri. 11/9/12 1:45pm Doug Schulkind:

wcbn.org...
Fri. 11/9/12 1:51pm listener james from westwood:

damn, been fighting off tears after hearing they've been sending love our way. thanked 'em both on their fb pages. feel somewhat less alone in this mess now.
Fri. 11/9/12 1:58pm Van in DC:

Nice. And hey, we were there for the Asheville station not long ago :)
  Fri. 11/9/12 1:59pm AJ:

btw A suggestion for the WFMU Singles Going Steady Theme Song: 'Never Played A 45' from the new Macka B album :-)
Keep up the good work!
  Fri. 11/9/12 2:01pm Doug Schulkind:

Right you are, Van! We helped give a boost to AFM (Asheville Free Media) during their Kickstarter campaign. Last week, Jonathan Price from AFM pledged during my show.
Fri. 11/9/12 2:07pm listener james from westwood:

nice cover of stardust. which is a fallacy. all versions of stardust are superfine. but this one starred in "goodfellas," so it gets an extra nod.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 2:08pm Fiveash:

Yeah, can't hear this without thinking of the bulldog in the yellow sweater.
Fri. 11/9/12 2:13pm listener james from westwood:

lol!! even dogs like boosted stuff.
Fri. 11/9/12 2:24pm Van in DC:

This has been a wonderful set.
  Fri. 11/9/12 2:29pm alexist:

What does Ichiban need to get their stream back up
Fri. 11/9/12 2:30pm listener james from westwood:

don't forget "warsh." "gotta warsh my face," said dubya, who then proceeded to wash his ass.
Fri. 11/9/12 2:34pm Van in DC:

Actually, during his state of the station, I think Ken said the "bill me later" feature is not enabled for this drive due to the extra costs involved, but I suppose he might have changed it.
Fri. 11/9/12 2:38pm listener james from westwood:

none of this "2000 now, 15 when we reach alderaan" stuff. cash on the barrelhead.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 2:40pm Amanda:

Hey all -- if you'd like to listen to Debbie at Ichiban central, the address to do so at 3 PM is this'un:

Fri. 11/9/12 2:52pm listener james from westwood:

indeed, both matt's and the station one.
Avatar Fri. 11/9/12 2:54pm Fiveash:

Thanks so much everyone for listening and for pledging, and keep giving to WFMU. We love you.
Fri. 11/9/12 2:56pm listener james from westwood:

feelin's mutual. thanks a ton, you two!
  Fri. 11/9/12 2:56pm seang:

Man this quote from Bryce on the main page is scaring the shit out of me: "i'm quite shit at pitching, but i can't overstate how absolutely fucked we are at the moment. the station always comes out of your radio/computer, and it's easy to forget what a bizarre non-business-model we have going here. it feels relatively self-sustaining from year to year, but this is a huge chunk out of our torso. for the first time, i'm actually kind of scared. "
Fri. 11/9/12 2:56pm Van in DC:

Enjoyed the show Matt & Amanda, thank you!
Fri. 11/9/12 2:57pm Brian in UK:

Half way to paradise. Good job.
  Fri. 11/9/12 3:00pm Doug Schulkind:
