Wed. 2/6/08 9:02am From: Listener Dave

Good morning, and welcome to Ken's Kulture of Kommentary!

Wed. 2/6/08 9:04am From: Ken

Oh, how I wish I had never uttered that phrase....

Wed. 2/6/08 9:06am From: Listener Dave

Why? It's Katchy!

(OK, that's the last of the "K" bit. How did that go?)

Wed. 2/6/08 9:06am From: jonathan

which one?

Wed. 2/6/08 9:09am From: uta

That's O.K. we still love ya..

Wed. 2/6/08 9:12am From: John from Oslo

Good morning to you Ken. And waking up to the news today, the headlining story was... the american election... in Norway. Hmmm, the Swedish election (our country next door) has never been of equal interest here, or the Danish, or the Icelandic, or the Finnish... I wish we could get some interesting american news, like Zappa, Elvis, Belushi and Joey Ramone - still alive!

Wed. 2/6/08 9:12am From: ?

Thanks for honoring my telepahtic request for the Deteriorata!

How many of the kids do you think understand the reference to "your dog finally getting enough cheese"?

Wed. 2/6/08 9:13am From: John from Oslo

---and Patsy Cline

Wed. 2/6/08 9:14am From: jonathan

and joe strummer

Wed. 2/6/08 9:14am From: Ken

John - That's pretty funny, given how non-eventful "super duper Tuesday" really was.

Wed. 2/6/08 9:15am From: John from Oslo

...and Billy Joel

Wed. 2/6/08 9:20am From: JJZ

We had a funny bit in the news about election judges making people fill out paper ballots with a stylus. He insisted it was invisible ink, and even when the ballot checker noted it was blank, he overrode it. It wasn't fraud, just stupidity.

Wed. 2/6/08 9:29am From: jonathan

more roth

Wed. 2/6/08 9:32am From: bb

thanks for getting me onto the big blood and johnny moped! im quite digging the grove!

Wed. 2/6/08 9:33am From: bb

Wed. 2/6/08 9:44am From: dc pat

aaahhhh, love the OTR

Wed. 2/6/08 9:48am From: Keith

Wed. 2/6/08 9:49am From: nh_dave

Was I the only person that had to google old time relijun to make sure that David Bryne didn't join them on vocals?

Wed. 2/6/08 9:49am From: Vivian

Happy post Super/Fat Tuesday to Ken and everyone!

Ken, can you locate 'Object of My Affection?' I think you acquired it from the last WFMU record fair.
And oh yes, more Roth.

oh lord not the Miami Beach phone guy again!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:13am From: Gregory

The cut is reminding me of the US satellite that is going to fall on us all in the next week or so. Doug, can you offer us any consolation for this impending tragedy?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:13am From: -max-

Is that a trick question? As in, the Soviet Union no longer exists, so the answer would be "zero", right?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:14am From: Doug

Eleven.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:16am From: William

Have I mentioned that I always turn WFMU off when somebody plays a crank call or DJ prank recording? Check back with you at noon...

Wed. 2/6/08 11:18am From: Rudy "Negativland" Giuliani

Doug: I know this one. The answer is of course Eleven. And to answer your next question (what is the is the ninth month of the year?) September

Wed. 2/6/08 11:19am From: Ken

Bye bye William! I'll be lost without you!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:19am From: Doug

They have so much power, man.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:20am From: Ghengis Jung

Well, there goes WFMU... Now that William is gone...

Wed. 2/6/08 11:20am From: Jason

Have I mentioned that I always turn WFMU off whenever they play rap? Check back with you next week,

Wed. 2/6/08 11:22am From: Martha in Atlanta

And have I mentioned that I turn off WFMU whenever they get too predictable?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:22am From: Mace in the Lace

Have I mentioned?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:23am From: Rudy

Re William's comment "Did I mention......" - Did I mention that I will always remember that first day I stumbled upon this fine station, WFMU. It was in fourth day of the second week of September..........

Wed. 2/6/08 11:24am From: dei xhrist

I only turn off WFMU when they play country.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:25am From: Vivian

Did I mention I turn off WFMU when I go to bed?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:26am From: Doug

I don't figure anyone gives a shit when I turn it off.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:27am From: Mark

Wed. 2/6/08 11:27am From: Ment Shun

Did I mention "did I mention"?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:27am From: Winslow

Let the DJ play what he pleases. I only turn off WFMU during lightning storms.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:29am From: Ken

Jesus. I turn off WFMU 12 times a day, and I work here!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:30am From: north guinea hills

did i mention the mentioning of my last mention where it was once mentioned that i stop listening to wfmu when i'm not listening to wfmu?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:32am From: Mace in the Lace

No, North Guineau Hills, you haven't mentioned that. Do tell!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:32am From: LIstener Dave

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy Ken's Kulture Of Kommentary?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:33am From: Parq

Well, as long as we're coming clean, I turn WFMU off when, at work, my boss walks into my office, or when, at home, my more mainstream-oriented spouse complains that she is tired of hearing what sounds like small animals being tortured.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:34am From: Nick the Bard

Did I mention that in Soviet Russia, radio turns off you?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:34am From: north guinea hills

well, it was back we were all mentioning the mentioning days of mention, and it was mentioned that one was not listening to wfmu at which point i realized there was a point before i was mentioning where i was not listening to wfmu beyond that one metapoint.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:34am From: attn: Parq

You forgot "did I mention"

Wed. 2/6/08 11:35am From: Andy Breckman

Enough of the "mention" nonsense already! I only listen to WFMU when they play James Taylor - IE never. Hence I am a first time caller - Love the show. BTW I don't wear headphones on the air (I do chew gum) so I dont even listen the one hour in the week that I could (WEDS 6-7PM) but you should.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:35am From: Elmer J Fudd

I own a mention and a yacht.

Again!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:36am From: Raj

Forgot the demon reverb was on!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

That was beautiful

Wed. 2/6/08 11:37am From: so what

Ken has white hair, but he plays black music.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:41am From: William

Did I mention that I was once the victim of a prank calling radio DJ?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:42am From: Mark

I thought you left

Wed. 2/6/08 11:42am From: William

I'd like to see how much you'd laugh if you had to live each day of the rest of your life as a prank phone call survivor, with only the promise of noon to look forward to!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:45am From: -max-

Thanks for stopping by Andy! And I'm not being sarcastic...

Wed. 2/6/08 11:46am From: Ben

max, that Andy is an IMPOSTOR--he never shies away from an overused schtick!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:47am From: Ken

That reminds me -- Andy is supposed to do the last five minutes of the show today!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:47am From: Hugo from Bergen

I thought the next record might be the Zurick Sisters (or the Cackle Sisters as they were also known as) and indeed it was. A classic as is the entire Trikont anthology!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:50am From: Ghengis

Do you'll think he'll actually show up, or even remember saying it?

Wed. 2/6/08 11:51am From: Ken

No, of course he wont remember and I wont even be able to reach him. But I'll try.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:52am From: kamil antosiewicz

yodeling and apocalyptica. i am male and i love you.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:54am From: Hugo from Bergen

And now Grieg! There was once a Mountain Grill up on Portobello Road. Used to be frequented by Hawkwind etc. Mind you, the food was nothing special.

Wed. 2/6/08 11:55am From: Ghengis

He's probably just throwing his kids' books away...

Wed. 2/6/08 11:56am From: Doug of Canada

The Mountain Grill!!!! Priceless ....

Wed. 2/6/08 11:56am From: jneil

re: Hall Of The Mountain Grill ... your Hawkwind is showing!

Wed. 2/6/08 11:59am From: Parq

Wed. 2/6/08 11:59am From: kamil antosiewicz

http://www.grillsbypaulwall.com/
