Apparently, recording "Bold Venture" was done in a long string of regular work days, where they would record a few, break for lunch, and come back to record more afterwards. Apparently, Bogart always returned from lunch HAMMERED, but still recorded his lines fine, even when drunk. I'm not sure I can really tell which ones are when he was drunk, and which ones were "before lunch," but I suspect you could probably work it out if you listened VERY closely.

This was mostly due to him being referenced so often on "Night Court," and then later, making TV appearances where he demonstrated his sense of humor. While I don't think comedy or documentaries were ever his thing, I do appreciate that Mel finally started to get his due in the late 80's and 90's.
