The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

Francis Dhomont  Finale   Favoriting Frankenstein Symphony  Asphodel Records  1997  From his bio on Discogs (Wikipedia):
Francis Dhomont (November 2,1926 in Paris, France - December 28, 2023 in Avignon, France) studied under Ginette Waldmeier, Charles Koechlin and Nadia Boulanger. In the late 40’s, in Paris (France), he intuitively discovered with magnetic wire what Schaeffer would later call “musique concrète” and consequently conducted solitary experiments with the musical possibilities of sound recording. Later, leaving behind instrumental writing, he dedicated himself exclusively to electroacoustic composition.

An ardent proponent of acousmatics, his work (since 1963) is comprised exclusively of works for tape bearing witness to his continued interest in morphological interplay and ambiguities between sound and the images it may create.

Since 1978, he has divided his time between France and Québec, where he has taught at the Université de Montréal from 1980 to 1996. He is an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre (CMC, 1989) and a Founding Member (1986) and Honorary Member (1989) of the Canadian Electroacoustic Community (CEC).

I like that Sondheim thought Johns sang the best, the fullest and truest "Send In The Clowns," compared to all the covers. I don't like what I just heard a few days ago, that Streisand prevailed on Sondheim to add a few lines for her performance of the song, because she thought the back-story premise of the song wasn't clear enough outside the context of the play's story. I was never confused.

Vancouver, where I reside, is just across the river from Portland. Vancouver is very quiet and boring, as most folks go to PDX for any kind of nightlife.
I haven't been to a NYE event in many years. I honestly DNGAF about most holidays or annual events for the most part and don't drink and don't really relish the idea of getting killed by some drunk asshole.

There's a stretch of US Route 22 between Springfield and Union Twp. in NJ with a few independently-run diners that actually do stay open 24/7 (afaik) due to the area's proximity to industrial complexes north and south of the highway.
