Rich Hall was a comedian in the '80s who used to do this same kinda thing, only he called made up words "sniglets." Maybe the "Liff" book wasn't so big in the US because the 'sniglets' thing was pretty popular.

Monty Hall is a real life comedian in the US and WFMU got told not to continue to call the performance space Monty Hall. For a while it changed to Montgomery Hall but, I think this is how the story goes, Monty found out and called Ken to say he didn't mind. So back to Monty Hall. (I hope I got this right)
