Paper Kosmonaut:

The Groningen farmer is generally known as a man of few words. There was one who had a good farmhand who arrived early every morning on his bicycle, parked it against the barn and, after a short "Moi*" in greeting, went to work in the fields. in the evening after work it was "Moi" again and the farmhand left.
The farmhand had saved and bought a nice moped with his money. That morning the farmhand parked his new means of transport against the barn while the farmer looked at it admiringly.
"Well well, you bought a moped!" he said.
The farmhand looked a bit surly and replied, "yes." They went to work.
That evening when saying goodbye, the farmer said: "Moi", but the servant said "I don't think so. I'm resigning." - "Why?" asked the farmer? -"Ah, all that bullshit about my moped all day!"

*"Moi" (pronounced moy) means "Hello" as well as "Goodbye" in Gronings dialect.
