Good evening, all. I'm feeling a little brittle tonight. Maybe we could focus on soft rock hits of the 80s and 90s?

I'm glad. The Ziporyn is particularly good. Not so strong on soft rock hits of the 80s, though.

It is. I heard them at the 55 Bar (when it existed), and Schaefer had a real McCoy Tyner vibe going on. The two are apparently boyhood friends, which seems very strange. They literally played bar mitzvahs together.
  8:49pm
Dean:

I didn't know that, @LG, but it's clear from the records that Shaffer admires Muñoz. That's a good thing, by my lights. Shaffer also hangs out at DMG, or so I understand.

Have you researched as to how to pronounce "Røed". I know one European DJ that uses Google or some such tool when in doubt. But people's names can be matter of local or family preference. I guess you can try to find a uboob vid where the performer in question says their own name or fellow band member announces their name. For some episodes that can become quite an odyssey to confirm all the names.

I was biting my tongue every time a certain esteemed DJ was saying "Brötzmann" this week. Not that I know exactly how to pronounce it, but I knew that what I was hearing was wrong. Foreign vowels are very hard.
