Friend of mine wrote Ulysses for Beginners, which is a script of chapter sketches, explanations, excerpts and some wisecrackery, which we performed on several Bloomsdays, including one year when we stopped to do it bit by bit at bookstores and pubs for a sort of lit crawl. Some folks said it did help with understanding and some said it inspired them to take first dip into it.
But I've still never read the whole t'ing.

First time I read Ulysses I did it with /James Joyce’s Ulysses: A Study/, by Stuart Gilbert, reading a chapter of Joyce and then a chapter of Gilbert at a time, and it was a great way to do it.

↳ Song: "Do You Know The Way To San Jose?" by "Tony Mottola"
Heard story the other day during local fringe festival: for an earlier edition of the festival, a couple people I knew planned a piece called something like The Complete Works of Jim Henson, and they got the ol' Cease and Desist letter from Disney. They ceased. As something clearly satirical, it should have, one assumes, some protection. But the creators didn't pursue the issue.
But that lettah...that's something to put on the wall.
