Kat, yeah. The train tracks go in this crazy wide semi circle. If you're sitting on the right side of the train, you'll see the rest of the train out the window. The curve at Altoona is an engineering marvel. The train track traverses a steep section in a relative short distance. Often the conductor will narrate the story of the construction of the curve as the train passes through (though that might only be in the East>West direction. Listen for it on your return trip.

Berkeley is finally about to deploy a social services emergency service totally independent of the police, i.e., a number we can call when we encounter folks in trouble, as we frequently do. I had one awful experience after calling the police. Rather, the person whom I thought I was helping had an awful experience. I'll never call the cops again in that circumstance.
