The salt line on the Hudson is usually up around Nyack, and as far up as Albany it's still somewhat brackish. It only loses about a foot of elevation in that 150 miles, which is why it's tidal all the way to Albany.

The salt line on the Hudson is usually up around Nyack, and as far up as Albany it's still somewhat brackish. It only loses about a foot of elevation in that 150 miles, which is why it's tidal all the way to Albany.
