It sure is! I haven't listened to this in full in about a decade, thought it was time for a revisit.

Hi all! I spent the whole weekend seeing friends instead of being a homebody and as a result I made this show late last night, so naturally another ambient show was in order. Next week we will have more strange stuff!

I am lucky to have a collection of audio so vast that in times of haste, I can whip up a show with a couple nice, relaxing tunes.

Kids too! I first found this album and many others in high school, where I would play them during Yoga class. My teacher loved the stuff I would find :)

About 90% of the time, I sleep to Soma FM's Drone Zone channel.

Does sleeping to the sounds of Drone Zone improve sleep quality?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm
Rich in Washington:

↳ Mr. Oxford @2:13
It does for me. It's enough randomish noise and sound to drown out anything that might wake me up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm

I also sometimes sleep to the 24/7 random Over The Edge feed. Probably why I have such strange dreams.

That's neat. I remember reading an article many years ago about how the author of the article would play Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music during sleep as it helped her sleep better by drowning out other noises, hence making a case for the album as an ambient record.

Thank you for mentioning Soma FM. I had never known about it. I just checked out their website and it seems like an interesting station to listen to. I'm going to give it a try.

NOTE ON THIS ONE: I pitched it down a little in fears the high notes would be a little much for some.

I always wondered what happened to all the kids who were made to listen to these Scott albums back in the day.
I always imagined they developed huge craniums and built spaceships out of stuff in their parent's junk drawer and flew away.

One of them I'm guessing was J Dilla who ended up sampling Raymond Scott's music for Donuts.
