Thank Godzilla you're back, I've been hitting myself for months! Looking pretty bruised over here.

So glad to be back. Thanks for holding down the fort!

Mr Fab:

No prob. Doing fill-ins got me off me arse to actually do something with some of these playlists I've been creating for some time now.
Avatar 4:47pm

I need to do like 10 shows in a row and record them, which I'll do when I can get back home for more than a day.

Slide guitars have been both in country/western and in South Seas music, so I wonder if it's just a coincidence? I really don't know ..
Avatar 5:12pm
Mr Fab:

Zydeco, yes, exactly! Mixed with Tahitian drumming/chanting. Wow. Like a real-life mashup.

I posit parallel evolution. French accordion music mixing with local music with a touch of global major innovations. I know of some investigations into parallels with southern Louisiana culture and other French colonies. Very little direct interaction except at the highest colony social levels. The colonial rulers.

I need to find some more of this stuff. I had about 5 more.

Since you've been gone Greg we've debuted some new shows, inc, every Wednesday, Mike Rogers now living in Tokyo, playing lots of crazy Japanese stuff.

This was in an online playlist of "Japanese" stuff. I thought it was another Japanese group named "The Peanuts," but I don't think so. It's still pretty decent.

spacebrother:

In a shitty cover kind of way.
Avatar 5:28pm

maybe it IS those Peanuts, after years of heavy smoking.
Avatar 5:30pm

I saw the original vocalist/drummer (who was probably the only one left from the Trashmen) perform the song a few years ago.
