It's only really interesting to be with people when they're in their vulnerability. It's better to be with someone when they're making mistakes and don't know what to do, than someone who's being so sure-footed and phony. That's not interesting at all.  0:18:35 (MP3 | )

Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:04pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Hi, james, Hello, fred.
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:06pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I wonder why I like what I like but I do
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:09pm mossy lightouse:

Best evening Kenzo!! I was wondering what this part would be!
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:09pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

WTJU's recording wasn't working for the first 22 minutes so I had to string together other sources. mossy! A little bit of you made it into the show. But not the part where you're thanking Revolution Rabbit
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:10pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It's funny, I'm all freaking out because WTJU doesn't have a backup recorder, and meanwhile I'm automatically making two backup recordings of my own on auto-pilot, because that's what obsessiveness is.
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:11pm mossy lightouse:

Yes, i am not sure that part would have fit, so it worked out quite well to have everything be jumping between mediums!

You are both the artist, engineer and producer within one person, it is a good instinct to follow!
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:13pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It's crowded
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:14pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh this whole part is when I'm reporting the tech issue
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:14pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I was just enjoying the credits for "Primer" somewhere (IMDB?) that list the same person for 15 roles
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:15pm mossy lightouse:

!! Yes, the experience of the issue resolving while we were talking reminded me of Primer!!
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:16pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

This is also pieced together from multiple recordings because the venue's recording was in mono
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:17pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Huh, I'm watching the video recording, and I seem to be scrambling to free up disk space, good thing since I needed the extra recordings I was making
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:19pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Still freaked out that Shandling died
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:24pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:27pm mossy lightouse:

i was sweating also, sometimes it seems like water and salt could help to connect and combine so many unique parts of existence!
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:30pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It's crazy I'm not doing a video screencap of the playlisting process, it's another crazy layer I've forgotten to document
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:30pm mossy lightouse:

John C Lilly referenced by RR63 last week experienced many unusual versions of existence with water and salt in his floatation tanks! I would think that if other dimensions provide a continuous life, he hears your shows and you can collaborate often eventually!

Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:47pm mossy lightouse:

i subconsciously tend to hear peoples' nose voices specifically. I did think that Cat Stevens and Bjork had very high voices for a while; i still hear that, but i have figured out how to sometimes hear the full voice.
I remember being so confused one day when reading that Cat is considered a baritone!!

Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 1/30/19 5:49pm fred:

How is that a rival?
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:50pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

fred, glad to bring you a stage show not unlike the one you saw, except you don't see, except the arm
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:53pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Now back in 2019 radio. I sound a little less nosy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 1/30/19 5:54pm fred:

I'd love to see you do a live show again
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:55pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I remember 25 years ago deciding to start radio but didn't think this is what I'd do with it
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 1/30/19 5:56pm fred:

You just have to set the base to whatever the show number is, and it's 10
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

No, then it's 1
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Wait uhhh oops I knew I must've gotten the base thing wrong
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

So in base 63, 630 isn't 10?
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

No, 10 is 63. 100 is 630. I knew I probably got that wrong even though only in my head because 100 is a plenty round number
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 5:59pm coelacanth∅:

could it be? yes it could. something's coming. something good.

Yeah you know what I meant
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:02pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I couldn't insert subscript notation
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:02pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Watching two videos at once since two shows playing at once
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:03pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Hmm I guess this show was never released before except on that last DVD?
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:05pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh this was on first DVD
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 1/30/19 6:07pm fred:

If you want a 100, you have to reach a show number that is a square. Then pick its square root as the base.
Maybe pick any show number and say the square root is the base. I don't know about non-integer bases, but it's your show, your rules. An irrational base could have some appeal
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:07pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Imaginary base
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:08pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I was gonna say it would be nice if I actually had some rules but then I realized I do

Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 1/30/19 6:08pm fred:

That would take a negative number of shows, though
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:09pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It was 9:01pm on a stage right here

Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:10pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Definitely no rule about being comfortable! Although I did make adjustments towards the goal of not feeling suicidal by the end of a show
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 1/30/19 6:12pm fred:

I was actually typing "a rule to record it all"!
Avatar Wed. 1/30/19 6:12pm steppenwolf∅:

i used to worry that i was somehow attracting the "ominous traditionalists" which is why i had been calling in so infrequently. i am not sure if you know this person. i don't mean any unkindness by those words, it is just my own experience of this type of call.

that was an interesting phone call.

@mossy: Attracting where/when? To the show?

I used to be more paranoid especially about gaslihgting (not the clips from the old film that you sometimes play)! Thankfully yesterday I revisited the writings about Siddhartha under the Bodhi tree for the first time in a while and i see the parallels!

Gaslighting isn't fun. Is it happening sometimes? I encountered it just a week ago.

  Thu. 1/31/19 11:50am Mary Jo:

I briefly heard a mention of a compilation set of shows, possibly 50+ hours of Ken's best...
How do you buy that set, I don't see any mention of the set on your website. LOVE the show. There are many Buddhist concepts and experiences integrated into the soundscape.

Over the past few years, I have caught snippets of your show, always at a time of day that I need some positive support when my energy is running down in the afternoon. I didn't know until Monday that the show had compilations of previous shows, nor did I know that the show has had such a long run ! It has seemed to me that either you have studied and practiced Buddhism or your are naturally inclined to incorporate Buddhist thought into your commentary and soundscapes.

Anyway, I am very comforted by the show while also being engaged in the thought patterns, an interesting combination.
