Be shaken. Be stirred. A whimsical wham-bam of exotic enchantments, sleazy oddities, pop fancies, and swingin’ slingers broadcast from Ridgewood, NYC’s very own Shangri-Lounge. Best served chilled, garnished with signature swizzle schtick.

Hey Ms La! Pretty cool that you've got your own theme.
Avatar 6:05pm shangri-lounge:

Yes, I'm into it! Josh is a super cool guy - and he was a member of the seminal indie/emo band The Anniversary!!
Avatar 6:08pm shangri-lounge:

He even made it perfectly jingle-tastic!
Avatar 6:09pm Martinibomb:

Avatar 6:14pm Martinibomb:

always good to thro a lil serge in
Avatar 6:17pm shangri-lounge:

Oh, yes! Serge never gets old! And, despite the general subject manner, he manages to class things up!
Avatar 6:25pm Martinibomb:

only 2 days left of this rotten year! yay
Avatar 6:26pm shangri-lounge:

I truly hope it's like flipping a switch! We'll see...!

Avatar 6:40pm shangri-lounge:

Thanks, WR! If I can't figure it out, I will certainly come to you! Thanks for the kind offer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Pauly from Clifton:

Good evening, DJ shangri-lounge, Crew, full moon maniacs!
Avatar 6:43pm shangri-lounge:

Hey, Pauly! Thanks for tuning in!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm WR:

I'm reading about song writer Cindy Walker, she wrote the Orbison song, Shahdaroba. Such a different title it sent me on a search. Don't yet have any clue about where the title came from but Cindy Walker had an amazing career. Bing Crosby to Bob Wills to Eddy Arnold to Ray Charles to Elvis Presley as well, of course, Roy Orbison, recorded her songs. That is just short list to highlight the range.
Avatar 6:52pm shangri-lounge:

Yes, I had been reading about her, too! She had also written his hit "Dream Baby"
Avatar 6:52pm shangri-lounge:

Pretty cool stuff!
Avatar 6:54pm Mr Fab:

This show inspired me grab a lot more Cal Tjader. Coming soon to a Sheena stream near you!
Avatar 6:56pm shangri-lounge:

Ah, yeeeah, Mr Fab! Breeze from the East and Several Shades of Jade are where it's at!!
Avatar 6:56pm Mr Fab:

Those were the ones I got!
Avatar 6:57pm shangri-lounge:

Yess! Perfect!!

G'day Shangri-la & Lounge Sweets. ☆♡
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Rich in Washington:

Hellooooo....
Avatar 7:08pm shangri-lounge:

Whassup Scott and Rich!!
Avatar 7:11pm Scott67:

Just chilling with your smooth tunes and my dog. Beautiful summer's day here. I watched that brilliant moon setting at 4:30am. It now sits brightly above you folk I hear.
Avatar 7:13pm shangri-lounge:

That sounds amazing, Scott! I feel like most of my playlists must hold up pretty well on your end. More so than here in NYC.
Avatar 7:15pm Scott67:

Hah! Yeah Shangri-la. But you guys need the warm rush and up-beats. More than us at the moment.
Avatar 7:16pm Scott67:

You do it well Shangri-la ☆
Avatar 7:16pm shangri-lounge:

Hahah, yes, true. I'm glad your dog digs the smooth tunes because my cat just keeps clawing my couch as it goes on, and making direct eye contact with me!!
Avatar 7:17pm Scott67:

So it's being a cat then 😎
Avatar 7:18pm shangri-lounge:

Ha, yes. He totally is! I should have become a dog person. I missed out.
Avatar 7:20pm shangri-lounge:

Is it like going back to college? Can I still make it work?
Avatar 7:22pm Scott67:

I couldn't be anything else, Gus is my brother from another species. I fed a friend's cat for a week while she was at the beach. She's a beautiful creature, a bit dog like in nature. But still impenetrable emotionally.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm Pauly from Clifton:

@Scott67, sounds like a nice morning your way! @DJShangri-La, one of my cats is lying on his back enjoying the cool sounds. The one who's more like a dog.
Avatar 7:24pm shangri-lounge:

I like to say that I prefer cats who are more like dogs and dogs that are more like cats, but I might just be full of it!
Avatar 7:25pm shangri-lounge:

My cat Otto is a good guy - means well. He's just a bit laissez faire.
Avatar 7:26pm shangri-lounge:

I need to create conflict and drama in my life though - thanks to the Covid shutdown. He provides some of that for me!! Ha
Avatar 7:26pm Scott67:

A dog is your open university. They teach us so much, more than we teach them. We've had a bond for thousands of years, it's now I hate, intuitive communication between species. If you are prepared for the strong bond they will feel for you.
Avatar 7:28pm Scott67:

Hate??? I hate auto correct!! I wrote, innate.
Avatar 7:30pm shangri-lounge:

I've never really had a dog - perhaps when I leave NYC - the day will come! It's something I'd like to try! Perhaps I will find my own Gus! Everyone deserves a Gus, right? Ha!
Avatar 7:31pm Scott67:

Hey Pauly, dog cats or cat dogs. It's often due to the owners approach to the animal. Nurture over nature. That's why there are no bad dogs, just lousy owners.
Avatar 7:34pm Scott67:

Sure do Shangri-la! I'm lucky to have met him at 9 months old & offered to adopt him from his dying owner. That's 7 years ago now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm Pauly from Clifton:

@Shangri-La, yes! Everyone deserves a Gus! Mine during university was a mutt named Spike. The smartest dog I ever knew. @Scott67, you are so right!
Avatar 7:36pm shangri-lounge:

Someday it will happen for me! The stars will align. I'm looking forward to it!
Avatar 7:38pm Scott67:

Pauly I had a Spike, he was a lovely fella, adopted from my ex's daughter. I have had 4 dogs through my life. Gus the 5th,
Avatar 7:40pm Scott67:

Shangri-la, all my dogs found me, I've never sought a dog, they just happen. Like life. 😊
Avatar 7:41pm shangri-lounge:

and that is the dogma, as laid out by Scott!
Avatar 7:43pm Scott67:

Ha! I do sound like a Fidomentalist don't I.
Avatar 7:44pm Scott67:

Dogpa, on this occasion 😉
Avatar 7:44pm shangri-lounge:

Hahaha, yes!
Avatar 7:49pm Scott67:

Loving your show as well as the banter by the way.
Avatar 7:51pm shangri-lounge:

Thank you, Scott! You are a most appreciated listener on every occasion! I'd put out the good silverware for you!
Avatar 7:52pm Scott67:

Pizza will be fine my friend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, shangri-lounge!
Avatar 7:54pm Scott67:

Happy & safe New Year Shangri-la and Lounge Lizards ♡♡
Avatar 7:54pm shangri-lounge:

A New York slice, even!
Avatar 7:54pm shangri-lounge:

Thanks for listening, Rich!!
Avatar 7:55pm Scott67:

Straight from the box is always best.
Avatar 7:56pm Scott67:

Can I get Anchovies?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Pauly from Clifton:

Thanks very much, shangri-lounge! Wishing all a happy and healthy 2021! Gus, keep an eye on Scott!
Avatar 7:56pm Scott67:

Cheers Pauly, he will mate.
Avatar 7:57pm Scott67:

Always does!
Avatar 7:57pm shangri-lounge:

Hahah, no anchovies here!! A very strict policy.
Avatar 7:58pm shangri-lounge:

Happy New Year, Pauly! And to all in the Shangri-Lounge, a good night!
Avatar 7:58pm Scott67:

That's NYC traditional 😎
