Avatar 2:15pm Franco Twinkie:

Otis, I just have to tell you, last night before I went to bed, I listened to the show again and I stared laughing so hard I found it difficult to go to sleep. You and Sondy make me look forward to Friday night like a bowl of hand cut noodles.

Avatar 2:28pm Arvvvvvvcuken:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm Rich in Washington:

This is such a wonderfully peculiar album.
Avatar 2:33pm ironybread:

Carla Bley in the 1970s & 1980s = unstoppable
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm Rich in Washington:

Eugene Chadbourne and Charlie Haden play on this album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Mxxx. Grannnny (e/em):

The whole Musique Mecanique suite is batshit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:38pm Rich in Washington:

Oh man. Hate to be that guy, but I'm seeing that 'Blue' Gene Tyranny has died.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Mxxxx. Grannnnny (e/em):

dang, i missed Snatch and the Poontangs! Used to listen to The Johnny Otis show every week for YEARS! Whatta nut!
Avatar 2:40pm ironybread:

oh dear - I should try to find the documentary about Gene now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Mxxxx. Grannnny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Mxxxxx. Grannnnnny (e/em):

hey, there, Rich! How's the mountain today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Rich in Washington:

Freezy! And it tried to snow yesterday. Right now I am wiping muddy kitty footprints off of (seemingly) every horizontal surface in the house. When it's really cold out, the cats hang around a lean-to woodshed, which has a dirt floor. But do they wipe their feet before coming in? No. They do not.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Rich in Washington:

Oh weird. Reading that Tyranny toured with Carla Bley.
Avatar 2:46pm ironybread:

I don't think our Scott67 is listening at the moment as it's a bit early in Australia - everyone please enjoy this thoughtful thesis he wrote about music education in Aus (jump to the article "Who’ll Come a Waltzing Matilda?"): www.google.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Mxxxxx. Grannnnnny (e/em):

how many cats, Rich? i'm imagining a lot, for my own entertainment!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Mxxxxx. Grannnnnny (e/em):

ironybread: fantastic, thanks! wow
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Ottis Foddder:

Thanks Ironybread, bookmarked to read.
Avatar 2:51pm chresti:

Thank you ironybread!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Mxxxxx. Grannnnnny (e/em):

Brautigan! <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Mxxxxx. Grannnnnny (e/em):

i was just failing to correctly quote a poem from that Brautigan record yesterday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Rich in Washington:

We just have three cats at the moment. It seems three is the perfect balance between crazy cat person and sensible cat coexistence.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Rich in Washington:

The Richard Brautigan Library is in Vancouver Washington.
Avatar 2:54pm Debbie Davenport:

Neu <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Rich in Washington:

Neu could definitely work in a redo of 'Who's On First'.
Avatar 2:55pm ironybread:

Avatar 2:57pm Franco Twinkie:

Granny, one day I went to see and old roommate who had moved to Bolinas. We were walking down the street and he said "See that house with the porch light on? That's where Richard Brautigan blew his brains out."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Rich in Washington:

yes. That's it! It's in a corner of the Clark County Historical Museum. It's curated by my friend John Barber, who was Brautigan's assistant for a spell, and seemingly his chauffeur. He's got some interesting stories about him.
Avatar 2:58pm Buddy Runyan:

Great show!
Avatar 2:58pm ironybread:

Thanks for listening everybody! Stay tuned for Wired Up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58pm Rich in Washington:

That was fun! Thanks, ironybread!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Mxxxxx. Grannnnnny (e/em):

Rich: i want to visit the Brautigan Library! Wow, Rich, your friend must've had some wacky experiences with Brautigan. My life has so many places where it crossed paths with RB, but i never met him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Ottis Foddder:

Fantastic TayIRONYBREADlor, love listening to you in full, with undivided attention span here this afternoon. Thanks for the Neu!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59pm Mxxxxx. Grannnnnny (e/em):

Thanks, Ironybread!
