Hi-Waisted Modernists with DJ GeorgyGirl commemorates this moment with poems from the First World War, and gentle music from Takashi Kokubo. @Darryl - We were extraordinarily lucky with one Englosh teacher, the very aptly named Mrs Bennett who was *passionate* about the subject and knew ancient history and all sorts of things. :-) She taught us all the rude bits in Shakespeare ;-)

There's a great 3 part documentary about WW1 called "Long Shadow" Cambridge historian David Reynolds.. WW1 was complex to interpret, plus every country had a point of view with som many regime changes.. and WW2 changed its perception even more...
