ARB:

Spacebrother, tell us everything you know about Mel's Hole
Avatar 7:06pm
worldsworstrecords:

I don't think I want to know...
Avatar 7:07pm
spacebrother:

@ ARB, It's deep, It's mysterious, and it probably never existed!
Avatar 7:07pm
spacebrother:

Although I have a HOLE book on it!
Avatar 7:08pm
ARB:

What about the pinniped with human eyes and the ice that never stopped burning?
Avatar 7:08pm
ARB:

Some friends of mine made a musical about it, I have the tape
Avatar 7:08pm
ARB:

I didn't know there's a book! Hopefully with pictures
Avatar 7:10pm
spacebrother:

@ ARB - I didn't know about the human-eyed seal and the burning ice! I want to hear the musical!!!
Avatar 7:11pm
spacebrother:

The book was from a art exhibit with a Mel's Hole theme.

Rich in Washington:

There is a lake near where I grew up that legend has it is 'bottomless' It actually is rather deep for its relatively small size, but until more modern times, no one's bothered to plum its depths or use sonar to confirm that it's just really deep.
Avatar 7:14pm
spacebrother:

@ Rich - I think there's a quite a few "bottomless holes" around the country and the world. I want to see them all.
Avatar 7:14pm
ARB:

When Mel goes to Basque country in Nevada to find the other bottomless hole they pull a pinniped out of it, along with ice that burns all winter. Along with an identical dime to the one at his hole in Washington

Aitch:

Sparks always welcome
Avatar 7:15pm
ARB:

Okay so they don't pull a pinniped out, they lower a sheep into the hole and when they pull the sheep back out it's dead but it's skin comes off to reveal a pinniped with human eyes
Avatar 7:16pm
ARB:

This is all from Mel, not the musical

Mr Fab:

Spacebrother, The topic came up earlier today during Record Roullette Club when Danny started off his show with the Coast To Coast opening. Knowing that you do work with the Art Bell archives, I was confused, like, is Greg on now or sumthin?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm
Rich in Washington:

That was hilarious.
Avatar 7:18pm
spacebrother:

@ ARB - A few weeks ago, I edited one of the original Art Bell shows with Mel.

Hi spacebrothers and sisters!
Avatar 7:21pm

@ ARB - No I don't know him. I think someone found out his real name a few years ago.
Avatar 7:22pm
spacebrother:

Hey Chresti!
Avatar 7:22pm
ARB:

Okay so I can stop if this is too much, but there was a listener to Mel's story that submitted a simulated sound of what it would sound like if you tossed a cat into the bottomless hole, I've been trying to find that sound clip for Otis.
Avatar 7:24pm
spacebrother:

@ ARB - I'll look for it! That's tasteless and amazing! Which is what we're always aiming for here.
Avatar 7:26pm
ARB:

Thanks, you can borrow the tape some time, I don't have it digitized or I'd send it.
