A three-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

In the late '70's there was this communist band called Prairie Fire. For some reason they got it in their heads that they would find a sympathetic alliance with the punk scene. Well. if memory serves me right, they played one "punk" show and were reviled and ridiculed off the stage at The Hong Kong Cafe. I understand that they looked wrong and that was that. KPFK would play them however.

Avatar 7:57pm

One recording you will never hear on my show will be my circa 1988 rendition of "Diarrhea". (Some people think it's funny / But it's really wet and runny) One recording you MAY Hear on my radio show will be a 1984 recording done with my sister and my grandmother of renditions of songs Grandma sung in camp circa 1908.
