Avatar 10:58am Nutmeg:

Inspired by BC Sterrett's Lost Media Archive show last Friday, slowing it down while we let the tarts cool on the window sill. I will play Nutmeg for this show, please pick your ingredient of choice and let the trumpets softly blow your name.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03am Jan Turkenburg:

*whispering* hi everyone, I'll just have a glas of water and sit quietly in the corner.
Avatar 11:04am Nutmeg:

Afternoon Jan, water and coffee here... and blueberries.
Avatar 11:05am solo mon:

Gag morning to you Nutmeg and Jan (w that tart recipe)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:06am Jan Turkenburg:

ah, i like blueberries, thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am Jan Turkenburg:

hi solo
Avatar 11:07am solo mon:

I’ll just have some fresh nutmeg shavings, for the smell. I’m a breatharian now xo
Avatar 11:08am Sonderangebot:

Hi Jan, hi Solo, hi Otis and future electric signals. I am here on the beach, it's somewhat cold, an empty beach on the English channel (Belgium side with Jan), you can check out the houses and have waffles (nutmeg optional).
Avatar 11:08am Nutmeg:

Morning Solo & Sondy!
Avatar 11:08am solo mon:

Gorgeous music
Avatar 11:10am solo mon:

Hello Sondy! I hope you haven’t been malaising over antique post cards of kittens too much this week :-)
Avatar 11:13am Chopped Liver:

Hello lovers!
Avatar 11:14am Patè Cakes:

I’ve been so much clearer ever since I gave up eating food and just started smelling it instead. My body, my mind. Empty. Free. Mindless. Wasteless.
Avatar 11:16am Sonderangebot:

Sweet solo, I alternate between two states: malaise and saudade. Smell your soul! Hi "Chopped Liver"!
Avatar 11:17am Patè Cakes:

Hey choppy! It sure sucks when the label falls off and you get mistaken for cat food. Pate problems.
Avatar 11:19am Chopped Liver:

I don't really mind being mistaken for catfood, cats know how to savor the flavor
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Sonderangebot
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Chopped Liver
Avatar 11:20am Chopped Liver:

Cats and Jewish Grandmothers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am In Rich Syrup:

This is lovely. Like butter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am In Rich Syrup:

Hi everybody!
Avatar 11:21am Chopped Liver:

Hi Jan, Hi Sonderangebot, Hi Patè Cakes, Hi In Rich Syrup and Hellllloooooo Nutmeg!
Avatar 11:21am Patè Cakes:

Choppy I’m just sensitive as we all know when I die, I will be eaten by my cats. It has been written. They have spoken.
Avatar 11:22am Nutmeg:

My donor card allows my cats to eat my eyeballs.
Avatar 11:22am Nutmeg:

Hi Rich, welcome to the jungle... morning.
Avatar 11:22am Chopped Liver:

Patè Cake, you won't want to be a breatharian for that smell, trust me
Avatar 11:22am Sonderangebot:

This recipe doesn't feel very quebecois - more like an unhappy relationship between a jewish Montrealer and a gentile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am In Rich Syrup:

I've discussed being eaten by our cats after I die but my family balked at the estimate of getting me all canned up or dried into bagged food.
Avatar 11:23am Nutmeg:

Eyeballs can be very moist, just ask any resident.
Avatar 11:24am Patè Cakes:

Nutmeg I think eyes are generally the entry point for when cats eat their owner.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am In Rich Syrup:

My cats would just make a mess, based on the mice, squirrels and chipmunks they've been leaving around. There'd be forgotten bits of me all over the house.
Avatar 11:27am Chopped Liver:

I discovered my neighbor three weeks into this scenario, he was the catman of the neighborhood, I had adopted two kittens from him.
Avatar 11:28am Sonderangebot:

Cats should eat more nasty living human beings rather than kill sweet birds.
Avatar 11:35am Chopped Liver:

I've been adding nutmeg to everything lately, beans, oatmeal, smooooothies...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Enriched in Wasabi:

My favorite new-to-me spice is yellow mustard seed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Rich
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am Enriched in Wasabi:

Hi Jan! Enjoyed your Monday debut yesterday!
Avatar 11:40am Nutmeg:

Ah yes, I circled back looking at playlists for Monday last night, the show looked great Jan. ARB's show too.
Avatar 11:46am Sonderangebot:

I love the set so far, Nutmeg.
Avatar 11:47am solo mon:

Nutmeg is giving me a clicky Star workout.
Avatar 11:47am Nutmeg:

Four hours of this sound, singing grandmothers and teenagers making home recordings will wait another week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Enriched in Wasabi:

This'll be the soundtrack to me making breakfast.
Avatar 11:50am solo mon:

This set is feeling like a tribal ritual leading up to the full corn moon. Which is tomorrow! Important time everyone, especially for a garbage year like this!
Avatar 11:51am Chopped Liver:

My boyfriend claims to be married to corn
Avatar 11:52am Chopped Liver:

What does corn moon symbolize?
Avatar 11:52am Nutmeg:

I am together with a little penne pasta. Roll with it.
Avatar 11:52am Chopped Liver:

Today is Rabbit Rabbit
Avatar 11:53am Sonderangebot:

Plentiful harvest and abundance. Enjoy.
Avatar 11:53am Chopped Liver:

I like corn but I LOVE corn fungus
Avatar 11:54am solo mon:

It’s called corn moon because harvest time, but is also the time to banish the gloom and pain of the world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Enriched in Wasabi:

The moon was bright here last night. It actually sort of woke me up. I might sit out tonight and enjoy the full moon.
Avatar 11:54am Sonderangebot:

Bake corn bread, and prepare some ritual magic to protect yourselves from the cold. HA!!! Huitlacoche! I love those! So slimy and wonderful in quesadillas and tacos.
Avatar 11:54am solo mon:

Mmmm Corn Smut.
Avatar 11:56am solo mon:

There was a restaurant near me that made huitlacoche enchiladas I loved em!
Avatar 11:56am Chopped Liver:

It's so alchemical how it's white but turns black when you cook it
Avatar 11:57am solo mon:

Lol I made the mistake of asking the restaurant owner how it’s made. But I still ate it afterwards so... that’s how delicious it is.
Avatar 11:58am Chopped Liver:

Do tell?
Avatar 11:59am Chopped Liver:

I just saute it with onions and epazote and watch it transform
Avatar 11:59am solo mon:

My thumb is getting wore out over all the clicky stars, Nutty.
Avatar 12:00pm solo mon:

Oh he just told me that the only way to get the right fungus is to have cows pee on the corn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm Enriched in Wasabi:

This morning I dreamt that I lived in a huge subterranean basement and climbed out when day to see that they'd built a large Mexican restaurant over the top of it. I had to pretend that I worked there in order to go back and forth to bring supplies, etc. back home.
Avatar 12:01pm Chopped Liver:

Wow I did not know that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm Enriched in Wasabi:

Imagine being the first person to make the discovery of huitlacoche.
Avatar 12:01pm solo mon:

Rich why are you not recording these dream stories for my show?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Enriched in Wasabi:

I have this superstition that recording them will make them stop. I noticed that when I think I can do something 'productive' or 'useful' they just slow down or I can't remember them.
Avatar 12:02pm Chopped Liver:

Is it horse urine that causes tetanus? Don't get them mixed up!
Avatar 12:03pm Chopped Liver:

Or you won't be able to use your jaw to eat your smut
Avatar 12:03pm solo mon:

I keep them on separate shelfs so I never mix em up.
Avatar 12:05pm solo mon:

I wanna know how and who discovered that beavers anal glands made things taste better??? How did this ingredient get discovered and why was it in everything until the 70s???
Avatar 12:06pm solo mon:

Ok rich I accept your esoteric reason.
Avatar 12:06pm Sonderangebot:

From the infamous anal squirting beaver
Avatar 12:07pm solo mon:

I was thinking there was a candy factory next to a beaver pond? And a weird “peanut butter/ chocolate “ thing happened?
Avatar 12:07pm Chopped Liver:

If you're talking about Castor then I brush my teeth with the milk of beaver anal gland
Avatar 12:08pm solo mon:

Yeah castorium I think it’s called?
Avatar 12:09pm Chopped Liver:

I visited the Necco Wafer factory once, well, the back alley behind the Necco Wafer factory, and there is a tap dripping corn syrup (with a plaque) unattended and free, to tie together the themes of corn and candy
Avatar 12:09pm Violet Gland:

Yeah that's it, and it's the 'leather' in perfume...
Avatar 12:10pm solo mon:

Chopped liver whattttt so nasty. The real corn smut
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Enriched in Wasabi:

Maybe every early human community had that one person who would eat anything while everyone looked on, observing their reaction, sometimes burying that person.
Avatar 12:11pm Chopped Liver:

Oh that's me Enriched
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Enriched in Wasabi:

we're all watching you
Avatar 12:11pm Gland or Glanda:

Lol Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Enriched in Wasabi:

that kid in 5th grade who'd eat glue. They're the descendant of that once necessary genetic trait!
Avatar 12:13pm Gland or Glanda:

I was that person, but for drugs.
Avatar 12:15pm Gland or Glanda:

Apparently real castorium is so expensive to get now, what exists now is a synthetic equivalent. But there is a whiskey that is made in Canada(?) infused with real beav glands. Thanks?
Avatar 12:16pm Chopped Liver:

I love this stuff, it reminds me of ambergris. I had a brief stint trying to hunt ambergris to get rich. But also to smell the real thing and not the synthetic
Avatar 12:17pm Chopped Liver:

It's better to synthesize in the anal gland case, I don't want to thing of the castorium torture farms
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Franco Twinkie:

This I would eat!
Avatar 12:18pm Gland or Glanda:

Choppy yes! I am that way about oak moss And oud oil I just want to smell the real thing!!
Avatar 12:19pm Gland or Glanda:

You go Nutmeg!!!! Xoxox
Avatar 12:20pm Chopped Liver:

Oh wow, reading about Oud Oil, sounds like tree foam!
Avatar 12:21pm Gland or Glanda:

Ooh it is!!
Avatar 12:21pm Chopped Liver:

Internal tree foam
Avatar 12:23pm Gland or Glanda:

My friend gave me a little that came directly from the source in Egypt- she said the experience was the most surreal thing she ever saw, it’s like a crazy ritual where the extract it. Very dramatic.
Avatar 12:31pm Chopped Liver:

I would love to see that! All I saw in Egypt were suspect perfume shops that smelled awful
Avatar 12:31pm Cp304:

Good afternoon Otis and everyone.
  12:32pm Martinibomb:

Hey Otis!
Avatar 12:33pm Nutmeg:

Morning Martini & Cp!
Avatar 12:38pm solo mon:

My thumbs got tired so I’m just waiting til you play 4 or five songs, then doing a bulk clicky Star.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Franco Twinkie:

Otis, you can make a liver pie anytime. I suggest using some of those plums you have sitting on the counter to make a plum galette, or pie if you prefer. That's what I did yesterday, and boy oh boy, am I glad I did! Plums are almost over and unless you put some up, you won't have another chance until next year, an who knows if any of us are going to be around. Summer is almost gone. Isn't that what The Doors said? Bittersweet and wonderful at the same time. Get on it, man!
Avatar 12:41pm Chopped Liver:

Poor thumbs

It seems there is always someone doing saw work or maybe cutting branches on Tuesdays here. :) Relaxation factor
Avatar 1:02pm Mr Fab:

Hey otis, and the groovy Toosday crowd. I included this track on an exotica mix! Yup, even the Residents can fit into an Aloha Friday kinda groove
Avatar 1:02pm Owl Thumbs:

I feel about friendly persuasion the way curtain lady feels about curtains.
Avatar 1:03pm Nutmeg:

Outside my back door I saw a saw at 10pm. They were cleaning the saw.
Avatar 1:04pm Owl Thumbs:

Avatar 1:04pm Nutmeg:

We could continue Aloha Friday forever Fab... endless.. Love this one and deserves to be played in full.

Avatar 1:06pm Owl Thumbs:

Avatar 1:06pm Sonderangebot:

I’m mean, does he live in a forest?

A forestfull of out of work lumberjacks who haven't had their dose of castor anal glands, probably.

In my case, it was 1966 when I would wander around with my Zenith transistor radio pressed to my ear waiting, waiting, waiting, for something to emanate from that little speaker to twist my brain like a pretzel.
Avatar 1:18pm Mr Fab:

@Martinibomb: thanks, couldn't do it without you!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm Franco Twinkie:

What I heard was Little Black Egg by The Night Crawlers, Pain and sorrow and love for an Easter egg expressed with two chords.
Avatar 1:25pm Mr Fab:

I think it was in irwin's book "Songs in the Key of Z" he mentions really being struck by hearing "Little Black Egg" as a youth.
Avatar 1:26pm Mr Fab:

He wrote to a radio station asking about the song, and they actually sent him the record! Made him feel like a cool little dude.

Just tooting the Medium Cool horn here in the Chat: Wed, Sept 30th (4–7pm): Hologram Teen, a.k.a. Morgane Lhote (pictured above), just released her second solo album, a patchwork of acid-drenched funk, Congolese rhumba, astral jazz, and daisy-age hip-hop. She will be dropping by Medium Cool with Martinibomb on the Sheena's Jungle Room stream for a guest DJ set and chat. Morgane, it bears mentioning, spent some time playing with a little-known combo called Stereolab.
