So Montreal gets the Expo and they go deeper and deeper into debt... they need to get over 30 million through the gates to break even. So they have done almost no advertising and they put an ad in Time Magazine that just says "come see what the Russians have been up to" --- and that's it... plus some photos i think ... and people start going crazy

Buzz Aldrin, the lunar module pilot on Apollo 11, wrote in a Reddit AMA that the junior crewmember had performed the spacewalk first in previous NASA missions. According to Aldrin, NASA decided Armstrong should walk on the moon first because it was "symbolic."

The "unofficial" reason is because the decision makers thought that Armstrong's ego could handle it better.

So Montreal gets the Expo and they go deeper and deeper into debt... they need to get over 30 million through the gates to break even. So they have done almost no advertising and they put an ad in Time Magazine that just says "come see what the Russians have been up to" --- and that's it... plus some photos i think ... and people start going crazy

According to Aldrin, NASA decided Armstrong should walk on the moon first because it was "symbolic."
