Hi Jason! Nice to hear you, loud and clear.

Et salut Fred!

Looks like The Tower was too much for the archive system to handle
Avatar 11:04am
Jason Elbogen:

Fred-yeah, I'm working on that... I wanted to get the Tower archived for a few listeners who asked about it. But maybe you're right: perhaps there are some things are too horrific to be archived.
  11:05am
mmzm:

Good to hear your live show. Wot happened to last week archive?
  11:06am
mmzm:

i wanna to playbsck your gran'ma story again
Avatar 11:07am
Jason Elbogen:

mmzm- I'm working on getting it up... WFMU proper (the building) is down to a skeleton-crew though [maybe a poor choice of idiom at this juncture).
Avatar 11:18am
Thibault:

Well, loud but not so clear... It's like two streams are fighting to be on air
Avatar 11:19am
Jason Elbogen:

It's possible they are, Thib. Hmm...
Avatar 11:19am
Jason Elbogen:

Maybe I'm fighting against the Sheena robot mix
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am
fred:

Yeah, the stream has been dropping to the bot for a few seconds from time to time. It happened the previous weeks, but nowhere near as often
Avatar 11:21am
Jason Elbogen:

Fred - you mean just my show or in general?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:23am
fred:

Just your show
  11:25am
mmzm:

i like it tho
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Jason, Fred and Thibault. Just tuned in and I like what i hear!
Avatar 11:33am
Jason Elbogen:

Jan - the listeners say the stream is cutting out and going to robot sort of frequently... i think i did everything correctly this week, but who knows...
Avatar 11:35am
wizard frog:

greetings! haven't been around for this show for a loooong time - kooffreh forever!
Avatar 11:36am
Jason Elbogen:

hey hamburger! are you and your people ok?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:37am
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, Jason, it's doing that now too sometimes...
Avatar 11:38am
Jason Elbogen:

Jan - I'm not on WIFI anymore (First week I was and I thought not using it would stop the dropouts)
Avatar 11:39am
wizard frog:

yas - hope all good there!

as mentioned above, stream seems to be acting up before but will enjoy the odd cut outs for what they are haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am
Jan Turkenburg:

There are probably a lot more people online now than usually in your area... Maybe that's causing connection problems...
Avatar 11:42am
Mr Fab:

Hi Jason and fellow residents of Elbogenia. I wrote to the station again about last weeks episode not being archived. Haven’t heard back, but they are on a skeleton crew now...
Avatar 11:44am
Jason Elbogen:

Mr. Fab - listeners are saying the stream is dropping out, but I don't know why...
Avatar 11:45am
Jason Elbogen:

(with this Yasuyuki Uesugi track nobody will no for sure if the stream is dropping out, though)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am
fred:

I like this track
Avatar 11:46am
Mr Fab:

And you’re NOT on wifi? Cuz that’s usually the culprit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am
Jan Turkenburg:

Maybe your uplink speed is just about adequate...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am
fred:

@Mr Fab: Is there some buffer setting that could be increased on the app side? These are short dropouts, maybe a short delay would help?
Avatar 12:03pm
Mr Fab:

www.nytimes.com...
Avatar 12:05pm
Mr Fab:

Maybe Fred, tho i don't listen via the app and Im hearing dropouts.

Dave In St Albans UK:

Hi Jason. This is one crazy mash up OR the stream is a bit iffy. Very entertaining anyway. Freeform indeed. Hope everyone is feeling ok.
Avatar 12:06pm
Jason Elbogen:

Dave- the stream is iffy, sorry (or no problem!)
Avatar 12:07pm
Mr Fab:

Hi Dave! It does add a Cage-ian “ chance operations” quality to the show.
  12:07pm
Dave In St Albans UK:

:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
fred:

@Mr Fab: nevermind, it would probably be a server setting anyway
I blame all the pointless zoom meetings with video that isn't even remotely useful
Avatar 12:10pm
wizard frog:

haha I remember those commute horror stories now
Avatar 12:11pm
Mr Fab:

Yes, as the NYTimes article I linked to pointed out, this is happening all over. Something we have to deal with for a while, so thanks for youR patience, WFMU-ites and WFMU-oids!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm
fred:

Wasn't she the Queen of Asia?
Avatar 12:14pm
Thibault:

yes: "et"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm

Yes, "et" means "and"
  12:14pm

Avatar 12:24pm
Thibault:

Beautiful song
  12:26pm
mmzm:

reminder yr will on the air got to say twice.
Avatar 12:30pm
Mr Fab:

Jason, you were saying a few minutes ago that you played records no one cares about. Hey, if you ever decide to give your show a name, there ya go: "Records No One Cares About"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm
fred:

I don't think the Chief would like that
Avatar 12:31pm
Mr Fab:

This acid fuzz music is at such odds with the lyrics, that it almost makes the lyrics seem sarcastic. Though they are probably sincere.
Avatar 12:32pm
Jason Elbogen:

Kevin - yes, they're sincere... oh, by the way, did anyone write you back about last weeks non-archive?
Avatar 12:32pm
Thibault:

Love their song "Fair Shake"
  12:33pm
mmzm:

jason cares!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
fred:

I remember a fun Beatallica cover of Let it be. I think it was called "The thing that shouldn't let it be", with plenty of Lovecraft references (like "hybrid children watch the sea")
Avatar 1:17pm
Mr Fab:

Jason: I wrote to the station again about last weeks episode not being archived. Haven’t heard back, but they are on a skeleton crew now...
Avatar 1:33pm
Jason Elbogen:

Yeah, Kevin. I talked about the 'skeleton crew' on air, but then felt like maybe I shouldn't use the idiom at this particular juncture.
Avatar 1:40pm
Thibault:

Great pronunciation Jason, getting better and better every year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm
fred:

They still happen at times (just got one)
Avatar 1:47pm
Jason Elbogen:

Thanks Thibualt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm
fred:

Thanks Jason! Say hi to Jacob for me
Avatar 1:59pm
Thibault:

Great show, thank you Jason! And take care in the epicenter.
