Hi Bodega shoppers!
Avatar 7:34pm northguineahills:

Ok, it took me 3.5 hours to write a cover letter as I could no longer cracks the MS Ofiice license key as of today (I used every trick in the book). I actually had to buy a license)).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Gary:

Dr.-J! NGH!
  7:38pm rw:

Nigh, frustrating.
  7:38pm Doug Schulkind:

Brother Gary! Sister and brother listeners! Hello hello!

Avatar 7:45pm northguineahills:

I've never bought a license....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm WR:

Hi bodegistas. I think we all know it's 2020 etc. Happy happy etc. Have been listening with 1/2 an ear since start of the show, while out at dinner. Home now preparing recycling garbage and the music now has my full attention.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Gary:

WR!
  7:52pm rw:

ngh, welcome to adulthood!
Avatar 7:58pm northguineahills:

To be a geo-political pendant, the Channel Islands are not part of the UK (like England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland), but are their own bailiwicks whose foreign affairs are controlled by London (like the Isle of Mann).
Avatar 7:59pm northguineahills:

@rw: It's not adulthood, it's poverty, and thus, necessity....l
  8:01pm rw:

ngh, sorry man. The license thing does suck regardless. Good luck with the letter!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm WR:

A) I have the same crud you have and have been working at home last two weeks except on Friday so don't know how i got infected.
B) this program is of special interest to me because these are not genres of pop I followed but your taste is such that I expect to hear unexpected nuggets (crispy) to enjoy.
Avatar 8:03pm northguineahills:

Didn't go out last night, so, I'm out to read. salud, amigos!
  8:06pm rw:

Ciao!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Michael 98145:

...do feel I should be dressed New Romantic & doing the robot...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm Michael 98145:

must be Aubrey Vincent Beardsley cover art ..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14pm Gary:

@RevRab, we do have a robot song slated for later in the evening
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14pm WR:

Interesting VU cover. Most I've heard were either live or the didn't try to exactly copy. That one had the 80/90s keyboard focus to the instrument but slavishly followed Reed's vocal. Charming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm Gary:

@WR: Speaking of covers, there's a very strange one coming up in a couple of tracks ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm Michael 98145:

nice. dark show. thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm ParUbi:

What a great show tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm WR:

Yes, very interesting, the music make me think it was Heartbreak Hotel at first but then the Strange Fruit lyric. Will go back to other Strange Fruit renditions, particularly Holiday's to see if the two songs are actually that similar or if these guys made it so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm Gary:

I don't think they're sonically related, but I can't conjure another song in my head while listening to another
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm WR:

I could be totally off but before the vocal started I was sure they were doing Heartbreak Hotel ala Eno/ Cale.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm WR:

Although you are taking a serial format, the flow is excellent. If I ever have a dance party with a bunch of young (under 50) dark wavers this is my mixtape to make the party a success.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm Gary:

Haha, well I try, thank you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm Michael 98145:

Warm. Klingon-ette.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm ParUbi:

As an under 50 (barely), darkwave friendly guy, I heartily agree!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm ParUbi:

This is really turning into one of my all-time favorite one time shows, I have to go back and clicky-star everything!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Gary:

Aww, thanks, ParUbi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm ParUbi:

Haha, remember when you could get away wearing those military jackets! That one is next-level
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41pm WR:

@ParUbi. Consider, 1980 is 40 years ago. And remember you could just face the whole show with one click, well it actually takes two clicks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm WR:

Duh autocorrect, FAVE...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm Gary:

Face the music!
  9:43pm rw:

My molecules are shaking all over the place

Join Sam Segal and If You Lose Your Horse right after this program with First Wednesday Horse: wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm WR:

That Videoclips cover is so low fi high tech, even for that date I suspect intentional techno kitsch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm ParUbi:

he used to be on a time when I couldn't listen. I've listened only a couple of times but they were intriguing sets
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm Sam Segal:

Incredibly excited for the first Sullivan-Segal rock block! Please do join me for the first official Wednesday night If You Lose Your Horse: wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm Gary:

Sam!
  9:53pm rw:

WR, You think intentional kitch or unintentional kitch? I'm on the fence for 1982
  9:54pm rw:

I mean, it was all sort of reactionary, so there's maybe an intentionality there... interesting question!
  9:55pm rw:

Oh, and just to be sure, bourbon plus peanut butter equals dinner, right?
  9:56pm rw:

If I wash it down with some pretzels?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm Gary:

Sounds right to me, rw
  9:56pm rw:

Cool. Thanks Gary!
  9:57pm rw:

Crap. Show's over! Thank you Gary!! Welcome to 2020 everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm WR:

Their clothes are creative & elegant, but the tech part is holding a lamp and a couple of tangles of colored wire, I go for intentional but it could have just been limited budget.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm WR:

Out of the gate. Horse racing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm WR:

Hopefully a good bourbon
  9:59pm rw:

Speaking of horse racing, Gary you sound a little less horse than you did at the start. I'm pretty sure doing radio is good for you.
  9:59pm rw:

Knob Creek. Laura Scudders Natural Peanut butter

Bye!! Feel better GS!
