A two-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm Rich in Washington:

It was a scary couple of weeks. My Coco had to go have open heart surgery. Everything's going well now.
Avatar 7:12pm geezerette:

Pure 80s. Shoulder pads...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah. I actually dig his 80s stuff, before his huge hits anyway.
  7:14pm App ParUbi:

That must have been a terrifying ordeal. Glad you’re on the other side of that!

Avatar 7:37pm Mr Fab:

I actually bought this Bing album at a bargain record sale. But I would, wouldnt I? Pom. pom. Pom pompapom pom.
Avatar 7:38pm Martinibomb:

Avatar 7:39pm geezerette:

hah! So sentimental, Mr. Fab.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm Rich in Washington:

They're giving CCR the Mai Lai treatment.
Avatar 7:43pm Martinibomb:

  7:44pm Waldo Ham:

I once got into a fistfight at a record show over a promo copy of that J.J. Barrie 45. A sixty year old woman pulled a bowie knife on me and gashed an artery in my leg and when I woke up in the hospital that night, I realized that she had taken the record. The cops searched her house, but sadly she had already fenced the copy of "So Long Bing" that I had hoped to add to my collection.
Avatar 7:45pm Mr Fab:

No jury would convict her, Waldo!
Avatar 7:47pm Martinibomb:

I once paid an old lady $5 to steal a JJ Barrie 45 from some random person. Great record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Richard S:

"And now, here's William F. Buckley...."
Avatar 7:48pm geezerette:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm Rich in Washington:

I am surprised I haven't been in a fistfight at a record bin/swap/thrift store yet.
  7:59pm App ParUbi:

Now this I like
Avatar 8:01pm Mr Fab:

Me and my late friend Stew used to wrestle Mrs Miller records away from each other
Avatar 8:03pm Martinibomb:

This what kind of man needs a remix
Avatar 8:04pm Martinibomb:

I want to start a cover band of this kinda thing and just play small town circuit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Kat in Chicago:

Checking in for the second hour. Welcome back, Rich!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm ParUbi:

Avatar 8:12pm Martinibomb:

  8:12pm Hopey Appmonkey:

That last one was a classic, Rich!
Avatar 8:18pm geezerette:

Avatar 8:20pm Mr Fab:

Wonder if there were any other releases on the Barking Rat label...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm Kat in Chicago:

This version of "Some Velvet Morning" passed through my record collection at some point. i still prefer Lee & Nancy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm Rich in Washington:

That whole LP appears to be a one-off operation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm Kat in Chicago:

I do like the Neubautens doing "Sand" :)
Avatar 8:23pm geezerette:

Thanks, Rich!
Time to reheat leftovers.
Avatar 8:25pm Mr Fab:

I just had my leftovers!

An apprecition of Nancy and/or Lee among the 80s alterna crowd preceeded the 90s lounge revival. Maybe they were the gateway drug?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm Kat in Chicago:

Ah, it's a theme set. Nice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm Kat in Chicago:

I went to a Friendsgiving and didn't bring back any leftovers. Kinda wish I had some stuffing right now. Mr. Fab - Could be!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm Rich in Washington:

See ya Kat! Happy leftoversgivings!
  8:31pm Hopey Appmonkey:

We are discussing reheating leftovers for a very lazy dinner. This set is a good accompaniment.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm ParUbi:

I left just in time to miss some of my favorites-- EN, Psychic TV, etc., but I'm back. Had to regain control of the music hahah
