Thibault:

Yes indeed, it means "Travels around the world"

Dave In St Albans UK:

A few showers of rain and perfect excuse to listen to the show live today. Hi everyone.

Rich in Washington:

It's just this little chromium switch...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am
fred:

I guess the ground needed it, yes. Still sucks that it rains when I have a day off in summer. I don't even like summer, then it rains?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Dave and Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am
Jan Turkenburg:

@Fred, the universe is telling you to listen to Jason :-)
Avatar 11:21am
Thibault:

This Bondai Fujii album that you played a month ago is amazing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am
fred:

@Jan: a rare time when the universe deals good advice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25am
Jan Turkenburg:

@Fred, I know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am
fred:

Jason, don't complain about your train mishaps. Just listen to your own archives to hear how worse it could be
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am
Rich in Washington:

Hi Jan! Hello Jason!
Hello everybodeez!
Avatar 11:34am
Jason Elbogen:

Fred, yes, assuming you're referring to the ol' 3:50AM decisions between the feces train and urine train?
Avatar 11:42am
Mr Fab:

both choices might be preferable to the busker train. In LA they seem to think the subway is open mic night with their bad off-key Beatles covers bashed out on acoustic guitars
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am
fred:

If mental illness is just deviating from the norm, shooting people dead sounds saner by the day
Avatar 11:54am
Jason Elbogen:

I actually understand about 30% of the Chinese Words they're singing... That French (?) part at the beginning is a mystery to me, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I already favorited this entire show and we're not even halfway yet. I love these Asian records you're playing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm
Jan Turkenburg:

My new mic stand can produce some excellent noises, I will demonstrate at the start of my show :-)
Avatar 12:20pm
Thibault:

No ice cream trucks in France...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
fred:

I think there are still language differences, specifically there's an extra tone in Northern Vietnamese that isn't used in the South. It could be BS for all I know though
Avatar 12:21pm
Thibault:

And indeed the Chengdu group song had a singer spaking perfect French
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, we have! There is one ice cream guy that has been playing a very annoying sounding "oh my darling Clementine" for years now. I don't understand he hasn't gone insane yet... or maybe he has...
  12:32pm
Jake:

Hi Jason!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
fred:

Ice cream trucks will probably come soon. I mean, even in my lower-class suburb, the usual merguez/fries combo was replaced by a food truck this year (with the price doubling, of course) in a nearby park. For "some reason" attendance in that park was much lower
  12:35pm
Jake:

there's been a food truck parked at the bottom of my street for years now... wonder if it'll ever be used
Avatar 12:35pm
Thibault:

You're right Fred can find one ice cream food truck in Paris, to my knowledge, and it's for hipsters.

beginner's luck i guess... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm

@Thibault: I don't think we've met, the only Thibault I know is TG. Then again, I never ask anyone's name. Do you ever go to Instants Chavirés?
  12:59pm
Jake:

this song is amazing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm
Rich in Washington:

@Jan @12:21: We just spent some time at the Oregon coast and there's a candy store, famous for its handmade taffy, which plays Sammy Davis Jr.'s The Candy Man on a loop continuously, even piped outside to the boardwalk and public parking in the back.
Avatar 1:00pm
Thibault:

@Fred: No, we haven't met I think, I barely leave my flat
  1:13pm
Martinibomb:

Hello Jason and fellow listeners just tuning in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm
fred:

Wow, she got to retire! I guess I'd have to live to about 100 to do so, and nobody will want to pay me once I get to 50, which is like about one year from now
Avatar 1:17pm
Mr Fab:

Rich, i love Sammy, but not that song, that is hilariously horrifying! There must be some workplace regulations...
Avatar 1:23pm
Jason Elbogen:

Hey Fred I just found out the two of us are approximately the same age...
Avatar 1:24pm
Jason Elbogen:

But Fred, why won't anyone want to pay you once you turn 50? Are you a dancer?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi MB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm
fred:

Dancers can work in their 50s, software developers, well, it's complicated
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm
Jan Turkenburg:

@ Rich... unbelievable that's how imagine torture. In the early nineties I worked in a construction market for nearly two years and one day I complained because of the same c90 cassette that had been playing in the background for over a week (I remember it had Queen's Innuendo on it). I was the only one that had noticed...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm
fred:

random HR goon: we won't pay you much, but we have a VR gaming room open 7/7 24/24
Me: (runs)
Avatar 1:54pm
Mr Fab:

The Sendam Rawkustra has a Bandcamp page I see. I'll be hittin that up, you betcha. It did not escape my notice what "sendam" spells backwards...
Avatar 1:59pm
Thibault:

Great show again! Thank you Jason.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm
fred:

Thanks Jason!
Avatar 2:02pm
Mr Fab:

Fred, oh man, that is funny. Yikes, is Google opening a branch in your ''hood?
Avatar 2:03pm
Thibault:

Take care Fred and good luck with the software development market
