I really wish the djs on the regular stream would talk more about the web only shows, as a matter of fact what do people here think of WFMU going totally online so that they don’t have to deal with the fcc

@Julie amen to that

WPLJ is going away, which is astounding to me, though I don't think it's been iistenable for years.. but in the 70s and 80s lots of PLJ in my house

John from Florham Park:

@Julie I know just a pipe dream of mine
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:30pm
listener james from westwood:

I don't think FMU has any real sense of how many people listen terrestrially. It's tough to imagine how many folks might lose contact if it went all stream.

Yeah, that PLJ news was a stunner. Same period on my side for its being a music staple. (Didn't start listening to FMU until '92.)
Avatar 🦇 1:30pm
Julie:

It does make a difference unfortunately. I heard it's been harder getting bands to do SoundCheck at WNYC now that that show is web only.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 1:32pm
listener james from westwood:

I could see them selling a transmitter/frequency before completely losing the NYC signal. Not needed for the JM listeners above the border anymore. But I'd hate to see any further retreat. I was sick enough when they sold the parking lot.

@Julie I listened to PLJ when I was in 8th grade in 1979 graduated from WABC:)

Nothin' wrong with 60s stuff! Or the deepest bits of the 70s, for that matter. It all fits. I dig when we go from old Floyd to, say, ONJ and then Psyche Corp. Nowhere else on the dial would we get this. Nowhere else on FMU, either!
