Wish I could make myself some chicken cacciatore. Cooking skills limited, but the other night for a gathering, my pot luck angle/concept -- especially suitable cuz people had been outside sledding and snowshoeing -- was grilled cheese sandwiches on three seed bread with a bit of pesto quinoa. Warmly and eagerly received.

Nah, it's like a pesto spread with quinoa in it. Cheaper way to have handy multi-purpose pesto around. I drop it on pizza, on turkey burger, in pasta or rice. And if hadn't told guests there was quinoa in it, they wouldn't have known.

my mother used a slow-cooker when i was little but i've never considered getting one. i have a pressure cooker i never use, which i bought mainly for beans. i don't eat meat except fish and i eat that barely cooked, so i don't think i'm the best candidate for a crock pot.
