Millie Jackson here with a very real-estate-oriented heartbreak song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am

I can relate. Real estate has been giving me heartburn.

The Home Page FMU has that nice new App on it, I like using it, but I think it tipped off my office that I was connecting to a site that "should" be blocked, and the firewall stopped letting me listen to FMU at the office. Have to figure out something else for tomorrow (phone connection, or some other alternative). Happened Friday, was very bummed!
Avatar 10:39am
TDK60:

Hmmm sorry to hear doc; where is this new app on the main page?
  10:39am
Doug Schulkind:

Greetings from Triscuitville, Jeff. Happy Mother’s Day, everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am
Jeff Golick:

Welcome back, @Doug!
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 10:43am
doctorjazz:

It's not really new, the "listen now" arrow on the left of the page connects to the main station or the streams. It was recently updated, and I think using it tipped off the firewall at the office (can't prove this, of course, but that's when I got blocked, after years of using the "pop-up" without a problem).
Avatar 10:47am
TDK60:

Oh, you mean the Popup thing.
  10:48am
Dean:

@doctorjazz: Have you tried the old pop-up directly from the playlist? I see that it is hosted at wfmu.org, while the new app is hosted at radiorethink.com. Maybe the firewall prohibits the latter, but not the former.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 10:48am
doctorjazz:

They seem to be different pop-ups, the one on the Home page, and the one that's on the page of the show you are listening to.
  10:49am
Dean:

Yes. If you can view the wfmu site, you should be able to operate the old pop-up.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 10:52am
doctorjazz:

@Dean-I did, it seems once the Firewall figured out WFMU was ferboddin, it recognized the old all the pop ups, won't even allow the web site to come up.
I'll try tomorrow with an iPad-oddly, my office has wifi that anyone can use. The "connected" internet is heavily blocked, but the wifi is OK (has the net result of having staff spend time checking their Facebook pages on their phones instead of the PC's, a questionable improvement...)
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 10:55am
doctorjazz:

Great old album, The Clarinet Family!
Have to look or that Naomi Moon Siegel album...
Avatar 10:57am
TDK60:

So, use the popup on the show page not the main page. I'm human, I can change.
  11:00am
Dean:

That's the problem: the entire wfmu site has been blacklisted, in addition to the slick new player. Weird.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am
Jeff Golick:

God bless 'em, @doctorjazz.
  11:06am

101.5?! Wow. drjazz, tell her Happy Mother's Day from all of us too! Firewall issue sounds annoying. There must be a workaround. Can you talk to the techs about it? Maybe they can unblock in exchange for a box of doughnuts and a 12 pack of nice beer.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 11:13am

That I haven't tried, Dean, worth a try. I'm sure I will be able to listen with some gadget or other, but posting on the pages will be limited. Not a tragedy ..

This Funkadelic record appears in OED as the earliest illustration of the second entry for the suffix -adelic:

Forming adjectives designating or relating to a style of music which combines psychedelic characteristics with the style or genre indicated by the first element.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am
Jeff Golick:

Huh!
  11:37am
Dean:

Later illustrations include Tex-adelic, grunge-edelic, punkadelic, and swingadelic.
  11:42am
rw:

What's the first entry? Psychedelic? And you have a copy of the OED? grunge-edelic sounds terrible. I don't even want to know.
  11:43am
Dean:

First entry:

Forming adjectives designating something which embodies in a psychedelic way that which is denoted or implied by the first element.

Earliest illustration from NYT, Feb. 16, 1967:

Any swingers who have yet to shop in an ‘electrodelic environment’ should race right over to Best's Fifth Avenue while the fuses hold out.
