@b/p, the IRS is negotiable, the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance know no logic or mercy (turbotax effed up a decade ago, no records remaining, so a shitload of debt). "To the IRS, 'I paid x and should pay y" Them: *cool!*

. To NYS *response* "what is this math you speak of?*

Friends say I overdo the tax accuracy and concern about what’s reported, but I don’t evah evah want to be quilting and defending baloney or blurring things now when enforcement focus gets sharp later. What are the chances of a closer look by the lookers? Who knows, who knows.

Avatar 11:33pm

beep!
  11:34pm
Dean:

Speaking of musclehead, Zeke recently released a new record after, what, fifteen years? The promo video is a series of clips of drag races, funny cars, etc., from the '60s or thereabouts. I am positively giddy. Bought the record AND the t-shirt today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm
coelacanth∅:

i lost track of them. i was very into them when it was the 3 of them. weird, since Elisa was the wild and noisy one, but they calmed down to below my interest level after Leah left.
  11:34pm
Dean:

And I'm not a t-shirt kinda guy, exceptions being WFMU, my kids' schools, and Zeke.
Avatar 11:36pm

I’m nervous when our hearts are about 50% bigger than our radios
  11:40pm
Dean:

Heh, prior to tuning in at the outset of the last set, I toyed with playing Lyman instead.
Avatar 11:41pm
Scraps deSelby:

My t-shirt collection is about 200 to 250 — maybe 300? — and 90% of them are Threadless. And the last five to ten years I haven’t bought more than twenty or so.
  11:43pm
Dean:

To clarify: I wear t-shirts incessantly, but not ones with slogans/branding. I don't get the urge to express my convictions in the space of a bumper sticker. (Comments boards like this one work better, because I can ramble on. See, e.g., above.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43pm
Little Danny:

Hi Dean! Zeke is new to me but I love vintage drag racing and hot rod footage. There's some good stuff on youtube
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44pm
Little Danny:

Good lord Scraps. Where do you keep them all? And what's yer oldest tee?
  11:46pm
Dean:

I adore Zeke, but to each his own. At least watch the video: https://relapse.com/zeke-hellbender/

I'm not into sports at all, but I've been to a few auto races, including drag races, which to my mind are the very pinnacle of athleticism. Huge amounts of money squandered on five or so seconds of action replete with total sensory overload.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48pm

Thanks for the link Dean. And I feel pretty much the way you do
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49pm

@Jason: hideously rare disco from Trinidad! I do not own an original btw
Avatar 11:51pm
Scraps deSelby:

I keep most of them on bookshelves. I dont know what the oldest of them are; maybe thirty-five years? I wash them inside-out, which keeps them.

I have very few with words, mostly art.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm

stillb/p @11.09 when i started declaring myself a private contractor i couldn't wrap my head around the tax forms so i figured i'll pay h&r blockheads $550.(around) i'll pay less in taxes WRONG! i owed $3000. + 200something. the following year (last year) i tried to copy what they did but couldn't make it work. on the eve of d-day i sat in a wine bar and a woman sat next to me. i mentioned that i hadn't done my taxes and she said do you have the info with you? which i did. she did it the next day, charged me $40. i owed $1000. to the feds and got back $98. from the state.
H&R BLOCK IS A ROYAL SCAM!!
i'm seeing my tax fairy tomorrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51pm

speaking of disco, i have to go back to the archives to catch Duane Train this week - saw he spun a Risco Connection track. they have a few 12" singles, of note is their cover of 'Caught Up In A One Night Love Affair'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:55pm

@J2tK: I heard like 15 minutes of it but still need to do the proper 3 hours. And missed the Risco Connection track
