Evening, Sam and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm melinda:

Man, I remember a slide just like that. The highlight of Kiddie Park.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Sam Segal:

@LJW and @Melinda! Merry Monday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Sam Segal:

@Melinda, did the one in your kiddie park look that tetanus ridden?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm melinda:

No, not at the time I was on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I wonder if I'da even thot of that, or just presumed it had an Industrial purpose...irresistible for band photos anyhow...
Avatar 9:19pm coelacanth∅:

greetings Sam and horse people
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm melinda:

I think even without all the rust they probably wouldn't meet safety requirements now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm Sam Segal:

Aloha, @coelacanth and @Rev!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

This fellow sounds like Joe Strummer. Or vice versa...
Avatar 9:24pm coelacanth∅:

i think it's fiberglass, no? ...just rotting into oblivion.
- on the 2nd tier the ghosts of all who perished there are quite visible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Where'd these kids end up you figure?
Avatar 9:29pm coelacanth∅:

Ha that was Awesome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30pm Scraps:

h'lo h'lo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm Sam Segal:

Greetings, @Scraps!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Watts kids had me thinking of this one - known from Marty McSorley's show: :www.folkways.si.edu...
- which is NYC...
Avatar 9:40pm coelacanth∅:

great album title, Rabbit! i do feel i should hear what 6 boys in trouble sounds like, just in case.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm Sam Segal:

@Rev: That looks like an absolute stunner. Definitely going to have to investigate that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

That Watts was the stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Woh Dil Hi Kya' is crazy beautiful. Thx so much.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03pm Sam Segal:

Thanks, @Rev! Been obsessing over that album lately. Played another lovely song from it on the show last week.
Avatar 10:14pm coelacanth∅:

Sam if you like that Jagjit & Chitra Singh you would surely like the "quareb" (sp?) album by Najma. that song sounds very much like a song on that. (unfortunately it may be out of print)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm melinda:

Luxuriating in solitude is good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25pm Sam Segal:

@coelacanth, I will definitely seek that out. Thanks for the rec!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27pm Sam Segal:

It really is, @melinda! Christmas for a Jew is a chance to enjoy a little peace and quiet, while everyone else makes themselves nuts around their families.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31pm melinda:

Even as a gentile I manage to do the same thing! Xmas alone hasn't always been a positive experience for me and still carries some baggage but I'm an introvert so I've learned to make it work.
Avatar 10:34pm coelacanth∅:

(Sam, i'd offer to get that album to you - if i didn't think my copy was ruined. i haven't tried to play it yet since i discovered that my father had pushed my boxes of records up against the baseboard heat. that and about 10 others looked pretty wobbly. -i should've known better than to store stuff at his house.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:40pm Sam Segal:

Ah, @coelacanth, that's a major bummer! Nothing too valuable I hope...
Avatar 10:42pm coelacanth∅:

my christmas', in the course of my life: Wonderful >fun >subtly sad >tedious >straight up miserable.
this year i got out of it completely and had planned to spend some time at the xmas party at my local dive - which is truly fun; but like an idiot i drank too much on christmas eve (at same pub) then laid around all day.
Avatar 10:43pm coelacanth∅:

Sam, that album is the one i'm most bummed about.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm melinda:

Timing of booze over the holidays is important. I had a hungover and disappointing xmas one year, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm Sam Segal:

Well, @coelacanth, here's hoping next year's Christmas leaves you luxuriating
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:50pm melinda:

I like to have a good book to read on Xmas, too. Yesterday I started reading the Leonard Cohen bio I picked up several months ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm Sam Segal:

@UM, always a pleasure!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks. A pleasure to be here.
Avatar 10:56pm coelacanth∅:

Thanx Sam.
melinda, i'd planned on pacifying myself tonight and headed out the door a little before 9 for sushi then wine. it took over 5 minutes to carefully slide across my deck of ice, down the stairs of ice and to my car, not 20 yards away, on a driveway of ice. i decided it was a bad idea.
...think i'll have a beer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:58pm Uncle Michael:

Too close to bed time for me. But thanks...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00pm melinda:

I'm going to hit the sack. Night everyone!
Avatar 11:01pm coelacanth∅:

gnight melinda.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm Scraps:

I would have a shot or two of bourbon, but tonight I'm trying a new serious painkiller (Nucynta), and I don't want to take alcohol with it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm Uncle Michael:

me too. hello, I must be going.

night all
Avatar 11:03pm coelacanth∅:

oh well. somebody i know is drinking, somewhere.

'night Uncle M.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:03pm Scraps:

night melinda, uncle michael
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm Sam Segal:

I'll crack one with ya, @coelacanth!
Avatar 11:10pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm Ike:

Very nice sounds!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm Sam Segal:

Thank you kindly, @Ike!
Avatar 11:57pm coelacanth∅:

Thanks Sam
