afternoon Mike and everyone!
Avatar 12:06pm

"There goes the neighborhood." (No, not you, Holly!)

Good afternoon, Mike

The phrase "highly illogical" is itself illogical, inasmuch as logic pertains to binary states of affairs, on or off, 1 or 0, yes or no, true or false.

Folks! I hope you'll stick with me! Hi Wendy del, Nate K, Alex, Doug, Holly in NC, ndbob, Brian, and KP! Thanks!

It must be official Hawkwind Day at ol' FMU. Marty played some about an hour ago.

Seventh Ring!

It's the 40th anniversary of Warrior, I think.

Was watching the last episodes of Boardwalk Empire last week and was thinking I should get some Brian Jonestown Massacre. Any albums recommended?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

I was just listening to this BPreston album last night! Trying to put together a mix CD for my friend doing field work in Alaska. He needs it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Doug Schulkind:

I didn't work ON the corner, Brian in UK. My pimp did that you silly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
Wendy del Formaggio:

Hahaha, Doug! Maybe those sort of work conditions are different in the UK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm

One of the first rock concerts I attended had Billy Preston and then Ravi Shankar opening for George Harrison.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm

Hey-a Mike et all!
Avatar 12:21pm

Billy Preston was the first person ever to do a pop music concert at Radio City Music Hall, ca. 1974. A guy I knew who was a stagehand at the Music Hall told me Billy came in every night after the last stage show for weeks, practicing on the Mighty Wurlitzer.
Avatar 12:21pm

wow Doug!

Is this song from the Sins album that has the one about Sally Kirkland?

Weird that it has taken me so long to hear much SRC stuff, even having grown up in MI. Really good.

Love Sally Kirkland. Best of all Original Sins though is the 7'' with their ode to dating an underage lass ("Just 14") b/w their cover of the Archies "Sugar Sugar!" !

"I don't know what I'm doing," says Mike Sin. This from a man who has engineered some of the most rockin' live sets on these same airwaves. Modesty becomes you, sir.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm
Doug Schulkind:

@Sue P
Are you saying that overseeing a poorly engineered live set would be committing some sort of mic sin?

Early on - I thot Echo & the Bunnymen knew a bunch of mystical secrets I had to discover. Later I read 'Porcupine' was mostly about frustration making the album itself & suchlike...Well it's still good!
