Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from January 24, 2014 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Hard to imagine that was rated R, Alex. maybe seeing Henry Fonda as a baddie was too much for kids.

that's Once Upon a Time in the West, right? I didn't like that one as much as the Clint Eastwood trilogy, as Sergio Leone films go.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm

I'd agree with efd re. side one being optimal, buit I had a thing about listening to entire albums. I grew to enjoy side 2's more oddball arrangements. Mostly because I was fairly ADD about listening to all of the album, all of the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm

I had a chance to see Francis Black solo back in '97, and had tickets. But I noticed a friend I knew from HS who drove over 70 miles to the venue (in my town) who was a HUGE Pixies/Francis fan, and was begging to buy tix for the sold out show. He offering 2.5x the amount of the face price of the ticket. I couldn't stand to see his agony, so I sold him my ticket at face value.
