hey foldback!
Hey anyone else, Doug was on vacation so not sure how many of you are out there today
  7:12pm
northguineahills:

One of my best friends is from outside Fayetteville. After, graduating from U of Arkansas, he worked corporate at Wal-Mart before tiring of it and going to BU for grad school and finally landing in Brooklyn. We have an SEC rivalry going on as I'm originally from FL.

folded back ears:

cucurrucucu!!!! <3 this song

greetings gentlemen, funny to be here from here, still getting used to the time zone. I keep looking at the (unchanged) clock on my laptop and panicking

Jesse, this song is ten pounds of creepy in a five-pound bag. I shall respond.
  7:28pm
northguineahills:

That Crystals song has been getting a lot of play lately at WFMU. It's been at least 4 years since I've heard it before this month.
Avatar 7:29pm
jk:

I heard it recently on someone's show, who was that, trouble?
  7:30pm
northguineahills:

yep, it was Trouble last week.
  7:31pm
northguineahills:

you should do a set of Jerry Byrd, Joseph Byrd, William Byrd, the Byrds, and any other Byrds you can think of...
Avatar 7:37pm
jk:

doesn't that inevitably lead through the Blackbirds to andrew bird
  7:39pm
northguineahills:

Homophonically, yes. I was just going for Byrds w/ a "Y". Birds w/ an "I", you'd have enough material to ast 36 hours+.
Avatar 7:48pm
Allison:

One reason I love One Reason is because they make badass punk music out of phrases like "an initiative to preserve the rural way of life through fees on parking lots."
  7:50pm
northguineahills:

One Reason reminds me of the Southern hardcore bands we used to host in Gainesville in the 90s. They were some the few type of kids that didn't mind my live noise projects.
Avatar 7:50pm
jk:

with respect to the prospective by/irds marathon, I'm sure Doug wouldn't mind if I took over the overnight
Avatar 7:51pm
Allison:

That's exactly what they are. I've seen them play in Gainesville!
  7:56pm
northguineahills:

Really?, How long has One Reason been active? I have many fond memories of hosting bands post-college before the Brooklyn siren called for me. (Been here since 2000)
  8:03pm
northguineahills:

Then, there was some teenage NC poppy punk band that pulled the plug (literally) on my band when we were playing outside Jacksonville, FL.

Ahh, this is the Byrds from the Blowup sndtrk.
Avatar 8:05pm
Allison:

Jesse's Google says that album was released in 2004.
  8:07pm
northguineahills:

I mean yardbirds.... I spent my junior year of HS combing FL rec stores for that soundtrack before I found it on cassette at blockbuster music.... go figure....
  8:56pm
northguineahills:

Awesome set, Allison & Jesse. Had lots of fun. Cheerios!
