Good morning Amanda. Hi everyone.
  12:07pm Amanda:

Hi Brian and Carmichael! I will be keeping it country for at least one more song, and then will provide smatterings of more country.
  12:08pm Carmichael:

AOK. There's a tear in my beer already.
  12:10pm anne:

  12:12pm Doug S.:

Hi Amanda! The rain has blessedly, stopped in Pittsburgh. Dry is on the way.
  12:14pm Amanda:

Wonderful news, Doug! We are still suffering through Tropical Storm Lee, Ecch.

HOORAY FOR YOU, ANNE! :-) I mean it! So happy!!!1!
  12:15pm Carmichael:

  12:16pm Carmichael:

  12:18pm anne:

  12:20pm anne:

  12:20pm Looms:

  12:26pm Van in Dallas:

Oh. Yeah. It's Wednesday! Scenario time! Labor day through me off :)
  12:28pm Van in Dallas:

Threw me off I meant. Yikes
  12:29pm Amanda:

Yay! I am happy to hear of anyone's listening, be it at work or at the absence of work.

Hi Looms! Hi Van! Looks like we have enough folks here for a real swell party.
  12:31pm Carmichael:

That's just what I need, another party. That 15 beers song really hit home with me, given the holiday weekend... :-0
  12:34pm Amanda:

We must just keep the party going, Van. For the sake of the unemployed ones among us.
  12:41pm Brian in UK:

Bit late here but efd double negatives where are we going?

Amanda I bought the Sailcat album when it came out, proper double gatefold, thick card, cartoon story inside. Used to have a sidecar & when we went to see The Who the chain did break. Wasnt a Harley though.
Great use of 'swell'.
  12:44pm Brian in UK:

Ah The Soft White Underbelly.
  12:47pm Carmichael:

Yes, thank you for "The Cult".
  12:48pm Doug S.:

Did you say "unemployed"? Why you looking at me?
  12:50pm Amanda:

Oh, I am looking at myself just as hard, but for a few little pooches... (very esoteric sentence)
  12:51pm Van in Dallas:

That was swelly sung Amanda
  12:55pm Brian in UK:

Don't Fear the Tweeter.
  12:59pm Jack:

Emma Willard? WRPI?
  1:02pm Amanda:

Thanks, Van! No lyrics cheat sheet needed for that one. :-)

Jack -- Emma Willard, yes! And WCDB.
  1:10pm Van in Dallas:

More rain in the area of the WFMU mother ship today?
  1:13pm Skirkie:

There's a "Live on Marty McSorely's Show" version of this in the FMA. #fact
  1:13pm Amanda:

Yes, sad to say. Although there is none RIGHT now -- just some overcast and gloomy skies.
  1:14pm Amanda:

@Skirkie -- Of the CSC Funk Band track!? No kiddin'!
  1:17pm Skirkie:

Yesm. I downloaded many things and failed to remember about it, but I remembered that.
  1:20pm Doug S.:

Finally! Just spent the last 90 minutes reformatting all the email addresses for the Give the Drummer Radio mailing list. Newsletter sent out — with "Amanda Alert 9000"®! (Better late then later.)
  1:22pm Van in Dallas:

That Here I Go Again cover could have used more cowbell
  1:22pm Carmichael:

Doug, congratulations on obtaining your degree! Now the job offers will come POURING in!
  1:24pm Doug S.:

In liquid form, no doubt.
  1:26pm Bed Music:

The string section from Eleanor Rigby does their rendition of Time After Time.
  1:27pm Brian in UK:

Doug, Well done old chap. I'll have one from the cold shelf, please.
  1:28pm Van in Dallas:

Looks like it's Chrissie Hynde's birthday today too ;)
  1:29pm Mistakes:

I fought the cue, and the cue won!
  1:31pm Amanda:

Happy birthday to you too, Chrissie! (someone else I love)
  1:38pm Amanda:

So happy the mailing list has been recovered! Congrats to us all.
  1:46pm Van in Dallas:

Wore my new WFMU t-shirt recently. Walking into a gas station an older lady stopped and just stared at my shirt, confused. She told me "Oh sorry, just trying to figure out what that is trying to say...I don't do texting or anything" I looked at her and said, "WOOF! Moo...?", smiled and walked on
  1:48pm Doug S.:

I didn't full-on cry last Friday when WFMU's email server immolated — but almost. Now, it's tears of happiness. (FMU digital guru Mike Adler to the rescue, once again.) Woof Moo indeed.
  1:50pm Amanda:

I have my Woof-Moo shirt on today! It's true!

Thank you, Mike, x 1 million.
  1:52pm Van in Dallas:

Love the Delgados
  1:57pm Carmichael:

Oh my gosh, 2 of my fave songs in a row. Merilee Rush and Gilbert O'Sullivan. Even if it is bed music.
  1:57pm Lizardner Dave:

Been too busy to check in but have been listening. Thanks for another great show!
  1:57pm Alf From Upstate:

I always knew you were a SSRT!
  1:57pm Skirkie:

You're supposed to give presents on first dates now? I give up.
  1:57pm Joe B:

hi Amanda!
  1:58pm Van in Dallas:

Wonderful show today Miss Romantic (and nothing wrong with that) :) Many thanks for helping, once again, to ease me through a Wednesday workday!
  2:00pm Doug S.:

I love that Country Funk LP, too!
  2:01pm Looms:

Needed to hear catchy tunes, I did. Thanks!
  2:03pm Amanda:

Thanks for saying hi, Lizardner Dave! And hi to you too, Joe B.!

I know -- I am so thrilled that I have the Country Funk LP now. Greg Winter hooked me up with a very clean copy at a great price.

See you all next week! xoxoxox!
  2:08pm Amanda:

@Alf -- SSRTs unite!
