If there's a particular prayer to Mother Nature to prevent in perpetuity 17 stings or any stings in the ear or -- good gawd -- on the tonsil, I gotta learn it.

Another quick encounter was when I was driving with window open. Something came in like a line drive and smacked into my fore head. "Is that a bug? ...Is that a b..." And STINGO!

A friend only found out she was allergic when as an adult she was stung on Appalachian Trail in the Presidential Range in NH during her thru-hike, and hadda get the hell off the trail FAST with the symptoms and get attention, and then carry the pen and big caution ever since.

i never had an anaphylactic reaction to wasps, or the one bee sting... until the first time i got several stings at once. maybe 5 stings but the one, in the center of my calf, had it's stinger in me for ~30-60 seconds straight while a carefully walked down a slippery wet wooden staircase carrying a case of collectable bottles.
then my armpits started swelling, and behind my knees, then my throat.
i took a few ephedra capsules that i happened to have (which the scumbag fda has now taken off the market) and laid down, intending to die.
but i didn't die.
