Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from July 12, 2024 Favoriting

Uncle Michael's avatar View Uncle Michael's profile Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Asia only had Geoff Downes but the lead vocalist was a dead ringer for John Wetton. Virgil Donati was probably the next best thing as a replacement for Carl Palmer. “Due to a four hour wait in traffic due to a multiple car accident, a flat tire that came with a two hour wait for AAA to come via roadside assistance the street closures in downtown DC for the NATO 75th Anniversary, we could not get to our hotel, the Warner Theatre and we therefore missed [the] Justin [Hayward] Concert...
Worst road trip ever!!”

Oh Dang it, tuned-in just in time to be un-blinded by James Brown🥁 & ‘relieved’ by Donovan🥰. Finally perusing the backlist & enthusiastically find I missed a rare opportunity to have heard 1st album Doll by Doll! - favorite from the formative years! Jackie Leven being a fine sub for Bruuuuce grandiosity and lyricism. Love it. At least I can simulate surprised delight thru an archived reboot. 👏👏👏

Doll by Doll (featuring distinctive vocals & creativity by Scottish Jackie Leven) has 3 great albums (Remember, Gypsy Blood, & self titled 3rd). Then Leven went-on to record a cornucopia of 20+ albums to little recognition in USA.
