We have a DJ here, MHLee, who has a show on another station that plays dark ambient. He calls it Dungeon-synth. He says it came when metal bands would create atmospheric segments, and then sem ended up just focusing on those parts. SO it's like a kind of metal without the metal, haha. He did a fill-in special here of it.
