Hi, Andrew!

@doc: Kuhn also has a duo record with Ornette, of all people. It's lovely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm
KimSorise:

↳ Jeff Golick @6:23
I am also a fan of the LP Joachim Kühn did Feat. Alphonse Mouzon called Hip Elegy. i have played that once or twice on the show. German weirdie jazz doods

↳ KimSorise @6:30
Oh, cool! Don't know that LP...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm

Now that you mention it, believe I have that album with Ornette. But don't know Kuhn's music under his own name.

Hate it when the back spin pops off the LP. :(
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42pm

↳ doctorjazz @6:35
I think, very familiar, try album with Ornette(gettinghard to keep track of this stuff...)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:44pm
WR:

↳ KimSorise @6:36
I am guessing you meant spin, and not sure what happened to it. I've experienced spins splitting and even if repaired with tale it is never the same.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:45pm
WR:

↳ WR @6:44
Hah, didn't notice that auto correct got me, meant that to be spine....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:46pm
doctorjazz:

I'm confused about spin popping off...🙄
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49pm
KimSorise:

Backspin = cuing an LP for play.
I had listened to the first 25 seconds of Brainticket and was running it back to play and put too much force on the backspin and the needle jumped off the LP. My segue was not as tight as planned because i just dropped the needle on the LP to play.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm

↳ KimSorise @6:49
I hope that makes sense.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm

↳ Doug Schulkind @6:58
Hiya Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm
KimSorise:

No, but only because he does not know many German jams beyond Kraftwerk (and Can because of me), but he can make snips of songs into other sounds and rhythms - I cannot do that. I blend all day.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm

Duo out of Michigan - from the thumb, I think. Each record is a continuation on the one before. All 5 can really play as one long piece.

↳ KimSorise @7:32
I'd like to be able to do what you do, but, hey, we can't do it all (at least, most of us can't)!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm
KimSorise:

it's always fun. I used to play lots of 45 soul and funk sets - it's really what folks in Louisville know me for - but I have so many records and pretty wide taste. But I like putting together atmospherical sets. Now - I just spin lots of cocktail parties and Derrick and I spin some killer weddings.
