Many of the early Come To The Sunshine shows are unarchived on WFMU and need to be updated in content and fidelity. This one was done more recently, but others will follow.

Also, Orange Peel is asking too much money for fill ins
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
Gaylord Fields:

I already gave OP $167.95 for the Orange Peel Mega Mic, which is supposed to make all DJs sound as smooth as he does. Instead, I found myself tossed off the airwaves, no thanks to him!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm
Gaylord Fields:

Hi, sw2442, Mom Whig, myron feld (loved your DD fill-in), Woof, and Erica!

A Jingle Jangle morning was simply not enough for the San Francisco Earthquake
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm
Woo:

There isn't that much jingling and jangling in the Jingle Jangle People song
Avatar 6:26pm
cometothesunshine:

Woo - it was more of an idea than a reality - like much of the 1960s
Avatar 6:28pm
MOM WHIG:

Great Hollies tune
Avatar 6:30pm

Indeed. 60s era Hollies had the best tunes.

Avatar 7:13pm

This is such a beautiful version of She'd Rather Be With Me
Avatar 7:14pm
cometothesunshine:

SW2442 Jill is a stupendous achievement of a record
  7:14pm
Pax:

@Erica/Gaylord: maybe that goes under the heading of what goes around comes around. In my case it took 16 years, luckily for me.

"Saturday's Child" is in my Monkees Top 10, great to hear the writer's version.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm

Pax:

Davy sang a version of 'I'm gonna to buy me a dog, on The Farmer's daughter before the Monkees
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm
Gaylord Fields:

Russ Titelman wrote some of my favorite songs of all time in 1964, when he was still a teenager!
  8:24pm
Pax:

The way i always understood it was they all recorded their vocals on nearly every single song, and then the producers would listen to them and decide which one sounded the best for release.
Avatar 8:25pm
cometothesunshine:

Pax - that is a theory, but I think they just auditioned different singers and didn't necessarily tape them.
Avatar 8:26pm
cometothesunshine:

@Gaylord Russ would also later turn up in The Monkees' story in 1968 conducting the session for Porpoise Song. What a quantum leap for all involved.
Avatar 8:27pm
Erica:

My opinion but I think the tv version of You Just May Be the One is better than the Headquarters version.
Avatar 8:27pm
cometothesunshine:

They are both winners, Erica
