David and all the Voyageurs! Glad to join you here in the underworld!

Locally, the god of passage underground is Mt'a, the Silver Worm. I am once again propitiating this god and crossing under the river to your insular city of the Manhattoes, girdled round by wharves like Indian isles by coral reefs. Greetings from there!

My victory for the day: Transferred my HSBC banking app from my old phone to my new phone without actually having to call the barely-sentient carbon based life forms at HSBC.
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 12:10pm

Yes, and it's an interesting time to explain anything at all... there's a kind of multiplex existentialism going on here.

Had issues getting out of bed today so no shower, but I just brewed up a pot of Yerba Mate -- that stuff is rocket fuel. Back to work!

If you tried to 'splain "multiplex existentialism" after we spent the morning smoking weed in the parking lot when I was in High School, you would have been met with blank stares.
...and hello everyone
Avatar 12:23pm
David in California:

David in London, thank you. Jammie Dodgers sound like something I'd like. The only biscuits I can find here are McVities Chocolate Digestives.

David Dichelle:

Hello Hubig, was that a common parking lot topic?
Avatar 🚂 Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
David (in London):

"And as she stood gazing over her fruit,
Her beauty he chanced for to spy,
Oh ! what shall I give you my pretty fair maid,

I think I rolled up the  Åland Islands once and hedged my bet against their being too small. I'd love to go there one day. Swedish speaking but ceded to Finland after WWI. All connected by ferries and boats with bike trails everywhere. I'd even learn how to ride a bike.

And I could get my own damn quince!

Phillippe:

-40 F and -40 C are the exact same actual temperature. Just in case you were wondering
Avatar 1:05pm
TDK60:

Poor Stanley. I was there when the incident occurred. I was too busy to posit the same ol' tired trope/reminder that Miller's first five or so albums were actually good. (You might not agree with that either.) But I was busy and thought there are more important issues concerning the playing of recordings via radio.

60:min tapes were the hardest to make mixes on. No room at all for non-essential tunes, forcing the mixer into a flow only breakable by the changing-over of the sides. It's shorter length made for a sturdier stock of magnetic tape as well.

Handy Haversack:

I keep an emergency back-up cassette deck in the office. Along with the emergency back-up VCR (which actually needs to rise to the occasion along about now).

I catalogued my cassettes last week and noted the evidence of high-school obsessiveness as I timed and recorded the track lengths of dubbed albums for putting songs on mixes!
Avatar 2:22pm
TDK60:

Chuk, yes you could/can go into more depth with a 90-minute mix tape. Making a 60 min. mix takes great editing skill. Yeah, I think 60s give better audio, being shorter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:22pm

The recording session with a lathe press is next month, and you can preorder any C&K song (I think they might pare down the list after this week).
